Re: Adventures at the San Diego/Tijuana border

I think they have relaxed things a bit but back in the day they would not renew. We were refused a new I94 at PHX having flown to Mexico for three nights. Luckily they took pity on our daughter...

Re: Which airlines are flying to UK? (LAX and back)

I think it it way too early to predict 2022 summer schedules, COVID or not. I agree that cheap flights are likely gone, especially with the budget airlines basically gone. I had actually booked...

Re: E2 visa - Buy a Franchise and let someone else run it

Yes, absolutely you must hire employees but they do look to you to dictate the direction of the business. The investor is not supposed to be doing the hands on work, they are there to manage and...

Re: Reflections after 20 years in the US

I think your posts sum it up perfectly. For me the final straw was the last election and realizing exactly how fractured the country really is. We too will be moving in the next year or two but at...

Re: Retirement Visa Questions

Passports are scanned. Flight manifests. Not sure exactly what method is used but be assured both UK and Spain know when you pass through an airport and it is all digital. People from third...

Re: B2 visa rejected

I know they are very strict here but from talking with various officials it has become a real problem as it is so difficult to recruit first responders etc. and there is a national shortage of...

Re: B2 visa rejected

My daughter finally decided to try for b2 (see my post above). She applied herself in February and had an appointment booked in March, a couple of days after the embassy closed, so of course it was...

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

There are Facebook groups for E2 holders. It is a NIE you need. Email [email protected] and they send a questionnaire to fill out apparently.

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

I have read of other E2 visa holders in a similar situation and they aplied to the embassy for a waiver. Took 3 days for a response and was granted. Take a look at the embassy website.

Re: Student visa delays?

It is especially hard for F1 students whose families live and work here on a non-immigrant visa. Some of them will have gone to school here and lived here the majority of their lives so they do not...

Re: US Coronavirus and US-style lockdowns

I am currently in Spain in a small village close to the coast. We were far removed from the pandemic until Madrid went on lock down. A huge number of Madridolians went to their second homes in our...

If shipping is free I would bring everything except electrical and, as stated, replace in your own time. There is plenty to do when you first arrive without having to shop for everything. I also...

Re: Oak furnitures - buy in UK or San Diego

Buy it here as you are buying for room sizes and proportions you do not yet know. Also the climate is very different and may warp wood cured for cooler temperatures. If it was furniture of a...
