Re: Suggestions for US location

Southern California. Burbank, Orange County, Long Beach and LAX airports all fly non-stop to SF/Dallas IMHO. Orange County is family-oriented.

Re: Adventures at the San Diego/Tijuana border

Wow. I’d still have flown roundtrip same-day (as I did back in May), especially that the land border is still shut for non-essential traffic. You could have been refused entry, technically.

Re: DS-160: question on dual citizens and passports

Off-topic, although it’s worth noting that if you are an EU citizen you can still travel within the EU (including Ireland) using your EU national ID card. However, say you go to Ireland and cross the...

Re: L1 visa interview timescales

I saw reports on this site that, bar December, you can typically get an appointment at the London Embassy 1-2 months out as long as you’re prepared to check for available appointments multiple times...

Re: Visa interview appointment scheduling

As a general note I'd say there's no guarantee that you'll find an available appointment in December, let alone late December with the Christmas/NYE holidays and Embassy staff taking time off. I...

Re: H-1B Amendment for Location Change: Processing time?

What do you mean by location change? Is it a different State? (USCIS have suspended site visits due to Covid-19.)

My L1 amendment took 15 days with PP last year when I relocated from NY to CA. I...

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

I’m trying this myself next week when I do a week-long trip to London from Los Angeles but chances are that only the airline desk clerk will check and I’ll get the e-gates at LHR (i.e. no officer...

Re: Passport renewal before embassy appointment

My understanding is that the visa validity has nothing to do with the passport validity. When the passport with the visa in it expires you can travel with that and the new passport without any...

You're good to travel! Assuming you're fully vaccinated, take these to the airport:

US passport
CDC vaccine card
Passenger Locator Form...

Re: Travelling to UK Next week

They must have a large stockpile of test kits/minimum deal not reached on the back of government £ deals which they’re trying to get rid of.

Re: What happens if NIE request fails at embassy appointment.

Anyhow, I believe we have a quorum. The OP delayed his visa appointment from Oct to Dec to minimize any fallout from a potential visa denial due to the NIE requirement which will lapse in Nov. Sounds...

Re: Travelling to UK Next week

It’s a self-administered test, the kit comes with detailed instructions. I think Randox lets you “upgrade” the kit for Royal Mail. The basic price only enables drop box which is a bit silly as it’s...

You’re correct on both bullet list items as long as you’re fully vaccinated (carry proof of vaccination with you). Order Randox Day 2 test with the BA discount and have it delivered to your UK...

Re: What happens if NIE request fails at embassy appointment.

I don’t think that the U.S. bureaucratic machinery has caught up technology-wise to differentiate between NIE-related denials vs. “general” denials. A denial is a denial, IMO, as things stand...

Re: Current Travel Situation UK to USA?

You’ll be fine as I suspect that everyone on the NYC-IAD flight will be masked up as no one wants to pay a fine and get a lifetime ban from the airline.

There’s no vaccination requirement to enter...

Re: Current Travel Situation UK to USA?

TBH, I’ve seen more mask-wearing compliance on domestic U.S. flights than international flights due to the hefty fine threat and airline ban imposed within the U.S. for non-compliance. On British...
