Re: Help, just booked driving test BC!

Make sure you know how to do 4-way stops - I got taken through that twice on my test, not good at those! If two cars arrive at the stop line at the same time then it's the person on the right that...

Re: Where To Live In Canada - Buying A Home

Hi, as others have said, Canada is such a vast country that it's hard to recommend an area that might be suitable without more info on what you're looking for. Even within a province, there is a...

Re: Kettle Valley development in Okanagan, BC

As others have said, it's not really a community in it's own right, as it was advertised that it was going to be a few years ago. The 'town centre' has never really materialised. There is a pizza...

Re: Anyone leaving Canada?

If I'm wrong, someone...

Re: Bradford, UK?

There are many nice surrounding towns which are commutable to Bradford. As for living in Bradford itself, it's quite a run down city with a lot of racial tension. I've heard good things about the...

Re: My childs entitlement to citizenship

We obtained temporary passports for our children, as the wait time for citizenship cards was quite long. I would apply for the citizenship card now, it's not complicated, and apply for a temporary...

Re: Kingston or Kelowna?? Can't decide!!!

I can relate to some of the opinions in this thread. A nice place to live in terms of what's around - scenery, surroundings, access to the...

Re: Returning dogs to UK

The waiting period starts from the day they have the blood test, which is 21 days after the rabies jab but 30 days for some European countries. Not sure which , but for the sake of a week I've...

Re: Kelowna whats the catch?

[QUOTE=Lamin;7501821]
So before we start looking any deeper is there a catch or was it just an over reaction to finally breaking away from a long harsh Calgary winter?

Re: canada. anything else you would like to add?

The people I know working several jobs have done so for a long time, not as a result of the "current economic hardships".

Why should the people be grateful that they are not going through...

Re: canada. anything else you would like to add?

If you qualify there's EI (unemployment benefit) which lasts for 42 weeks and is 55% of your salary, (maximum salary $44,000, if you were earning more than that p.a doesn't make a difference). When...

Re: If you'd had a crystal ball.....

Me and my twin are identical too and I always thought we'd end up living next door to each other not 5,000 miles apart like we are now. I think eventually one of us will move, even if it's not for...

Re: If you'd had a crystal ball.....

Yes true, but you have to remember the reasons for going in the first place. You had valid reasons at the time so it's not worth even thinking about how better off you'd have been if you didn't go. ...

Re: If you'd had a crystal ball.....

Well for me I didn't particularly want to leave the UK but I had the opportunity to, and thought it would lead to a better lifestyle. In the UK hubby was working long hours and at the time I figured...

Re: If you'd had a crystal ball.....

Totally makes sense! I like it here but knowing what I know now, I don't think I'd have chosen it as my forever home.

But it was such an effort getting here and settled that to move back I know...

Re: If you'd had a crystal ball.....

So what's your story? Are you back in the UK now? How did/do you manage being separated from your twin? I have a hard time thinking that me and my twin will be separated for ever.

Re: If you'd had a crystal ball.....
