Re: Advice on Chicago suburbs please

Yes, the girls - all born in Chicago - went into a small Church of England village primary school here in the UK and they love it. So do we.

If you've already made the decision to move to the US,...

Re: Need recommendation for good, sympathetic US accountant

She knows nothing about expat tax related issues. Or treaties, or special rules, etc. A lot (most?) accountants wouldn't know about this area of tax as why would they?

There are many companies out...

Hi all,

My family needs a recommendation for a good, sympathetic US based accountant who specializes in helping expats with taxes.

We're currently living in the UK and our US taxes are a...

Re: UK driving license loophole

No, she has never driven a stick shift so we have an automatic car. The lesson was in an automatic car. My main question was regarding a potential loophole in the expiry date of her US driving...

Hi all,

We moved back to the UK from the States last November. We've been back here almost a year. My wife has been driving on her US license under the 12 month rule. She has just started getting...

Re: Has anyone done US to UK with dog and/or cat recently?

Also - can you tell me what you bought in terms of what you attached to the crate for food/water? I'm trying to figure that part out.

Re: Has anyone done US to UK with dog and/or cat recently?

This is great info, thank you.

Did you fill out the customs form ahead of time? Or when you dropped the animals off the day of travel?

Has anyone done US to UK with dog and/or cat recently?

We're moving back next month and are transporting our dog and two cats. I figured I had my ducks in a row with this, but then a visit to the vet today to get their vaccinations made me start to doubt...

Re: US to UK - quick TV question

I was looking at the 6500 - that's what I have now (or did..) I'll probably have to downgrade if I want to stay in budget and get one from UK.

Re: US to UK - quick TV question

That's what I was thinking... based on my research. I think it comes down to price? The same model that is $799 here is £899 in the UK.

Re: Moving back to the UK and I'm completely overwhelmed.

Hi there - can you clarify someone outside the UK can do this? Going through the registration process it asks for your UK address, only accepts a UK phone number, postal code, etc.

Re: Twenty foot container cost USA to UK

Can you clarify a bit? Obviously this is a complete do-it-yourself job. We've had several quotes for Chicago to south of England leaving next month, and all have been around $8k to $8.5k. That's them...
