Here's one i caught off the beach in Ruamati last year, the boat is 14 foot long and the shark was at least 12 foot

From the car park it is a stroll down a track with some steps taking only 2 to 3 minutes to 2...

You can walk to the gannets if the kids are up for it, it's about 8k round trip from Clifton just check on the tides
Try the boating lake/ lagoon at Ahaheri and a cracking cove and beach at...
