Re: Holding funds in a Canadian bank or in a UK bank but in CAD before having a

Take a look at HSBC. It's quite easy to open additional accounts in different currencies within the UK. All you want is to fix the rate right, move funds to Canada later. Even easier if you can open...

Re: Cats in plane cabin

Seems you still don't understand it. I said "if you're anything like us." If you're a cat owner and have perfectly cat hair free clothes then bully for you but I said "if". You are at least a cat...

Re: Cats in plane cabin

OP, whatever people say here, don't assume someone with a dangerous cat allergy is on the flight. If someone has a dangerous allergy, they should tell the airline and the airline will ensure the...

Re: Cats in plane cabin

Yes we traveled with 2 cats in the Cabin. It cost us about $60 CAD per cat I think in 2016. Putting in the hold will cost you thousands.

We used SleepyPod Air carriers, they need to be flexible...

Re: Moving back to UK from Canada

You don't put one sarcastic sentence in the middle of an otherwise normal post. I hope you're right, but still sounds like your common or garden hypocritical entitled British xenophobia bull shit to...

Re: 3 weeks in NS

Oh yes, very soon you'll have loads of money to spend on fair milk prices. That'll be a top priority. :sarcasm:

Re: 3 weeks in NS

Costco yes, but the other one in my mind is No-frills (so not a major supermarket perhaps!)

Walmart I feel is also maybe 5.19, but worse dates usually so I don't get it from there.

All same...

Re: 3 weeks in NS

We are talking about supermarket prices.

I'm not saying the OP is exaggerating. They could have had a different experience, I did ask where they found that milk.

There is a difference to...

Re: 3 weeks in NS

What is the relevance of a 3-year-old newspaper article giving a quoted price which you say is higher than actual prices in your experience anyway?

Re: 3 weeks in NS

Where did you shop?! 4 Litres of milk (7 UK pints) is $5.19 in most places.

It's still more expensive than UK, but I'm glad to pay it, UK supermarkets squeeze dairy farmers out of business for...

Re: Banking - How to buy and hold CAD before opening a Canadian bank account

Yes situations can be different, but I asked the OP their status and they are waiting "to receive the landing document". So I think my comments are accurate for their situation. I'm not trying to...

Re: Banking - How to buy and hold CAD before opening a Canadian bank account

Your bank GBP -> Currency Fair GBP balance (free)...
