No-one speaks english around here anymore

There's a disturbing beast rearing it's head on this forum lately, and it's latent (or blatent) racism. I'm dumbfounded by the amount of off the cuff comments 'I'm sick of being in the minority here'...

True, but see how you feel in 2 years time. Everything in perspective.

Anyone left in geordie land, or is nearly EVERYONE in or heading to Joondalup and surrounds? And the Old Bailey/GBT every fri...

The big one - housing affordability.

So, there's been a lot of talk lately (as always) about house prices, especially in Perth and Brissie. The latest (limited/biased but whatever) in a batch of 'unaffordability' homeowner surveys puts...

Re: Homesick Timeline

Now that hits the nail on the head.

That's pretty much where we're at. I wouldn't be that strong and say I love it, but I'd say we're happy here right now, feeling quite fortunate, and at the...

Homesick Timeline

Just sharing some thoughts for those newly arrived or about to emigrate - the unpredictability of so-called home sickness, and how long it takes to get a perspective.

Re: warning about emirates....

We've flown Emirates several times and they've been fantastic each time.

When we did the big move, we requested 40kg and at the time they advised 'make sure it's printed on the ticket or it won't...

Re: House price trends in Western Australia

A word of warning to all those coming this way, as there seems to be as much chatter as ever about the subject - Perth isn’t cheap anymore. It’s a micro-market, very different from overpriced NSW and...
