Re: Investment Platforms for expats

Try interactive brokers. They don’t hold your hand through the account opening or trading on the platform, but covers your requirements as an expat. Saxo bank also worth considering.

Re: How many People are FIFA expecting at the Doha Works Cup

Re: How many People are FIFA expecting at the Doha Works Cup

Realise this is just a troll post, but i'll bite:

You've clearly not been to Qatar. Sure, it's not Brazil, but these aren't banned, and are all available and will be available in greater numbers...

Re: Qatar Police Clearance

The only options I know are to request through the Metrash2 app (You'd need to still have a valid residents permit for this). Or apply directly at the Criminal Evidence Investigation Department off...

Re: Brexshit

I think this is the biggest problem with the whole Brexit affair. 17.4 million different varieties of Brexit with so many incompatible with each other. This was exploited by the leave campaigns (I...

Re: Brexshit

Agreed there are plenty of places you pick up taxes, but it's not close to a 66% effective rate. Total tax revenue as percentage of GDP = 34.4%...

Gross salary of £40k has an...

Re: Brexshit

No option is particularly palatable. No-deal will probably get voted down tonight, although will remain the natural fall-back position if nothing else changes. The least damaging outcome for the...

Re: WC2022 expansion?

Yup, 48 teams for 2026. It only increased from 24 to 32 teams 1998. It'll be 96 teams before too long at this rate.

WC2022 expansion?

https://apnews.com/421dca3cbf454bf191cfc3af9f4dc685

Looks like FIFA wants to expand the tournament from 32 to 48 teams in 2022. The article based on the leaked report says that two to four more...

Good summary from co durham boy above. There are plenty of families with young children in Qatar, and especially now Qatar has opened up heaps of new parks and play areas you'll keep busy. Summer is...

Re: Sin Tax in Qatar

Looks like bar prices haven't risen as much as expected. The Rose and Thistle has said there's an average increase to drink prices of 20%. The Belgium cafe is absorbing the cost (for now). Kempinski...
