Better to not use an intermediary. Revolut or Wise will likely cut out those fees. Fees can be up to 50USD.

The CRS form simply means that HSBC will report your earnings to HMRC (which they have to do - CRS is just showing where to report you, UK, UAE, France etc.). If you are compliant with the tax rules...

Audi wanted a padron. Not a big deal to be fair, once you have the contract the pardon is only a utility bill away. You can get an appointment at the Marbella townhall in about a week.

I use standard chartered.

I find no matter the currency you want, you are almost always better off sending USD to a USD account/wise/Revolut and converting from there.

I'm in this process. For me, I have enabled email confirmation with my bank. All I have to do is send a signed PDF of the wire transfer form and they will send, after a call back etc. Painful but...

The real issue with Dubai is the eye-watering health insurance costs.

yes, it was a combination of a few things: my working hours started to suck (job moved to california so 12 hour time differences), over the last 3 years or so my tolerance to the dust and pollution...

Thanks for the tip about unlocking. Almost all phones in Dubai are unlocked (we buy handsets not contracts)

Hello

I'm moving to Spain next week, and am looking to get set up with a pre-paid number. Can I do this before I arrive via an eSim? Any tips would be appreciated.
