Re: Moving to Denver from UK

With respect, you might find that your concept of a "city" isn't what you'd find in Denver proper. It's a very sprawling place. If you hate lots of traffic, well, that's unavoidable anywhere in the...

Re: Office Politics: US vs UK

We have infighting and falling outs, but no more than a typical office. I have very close working relationships with many people here. Anyone who was really trying to start something wouldn't last...

Re: Having a baby in the USA: our experience

Glad it helped you.

As for shopping around, your insurance will usually allow you to use a number of different places for the birth, and some places will be cheaper to give birth in than others....

Re: Having a baby in the USA: our experience

I've seen people post about this before so I thought I'd add our experience to the pool.

I discovered I was pregnant last summer with my first child, and I was able to get maternity care starting...

Re: Offered job but told to do the visa legwork on your own?

Thanks, Noorah. My friend has already shot herself in the foot, I think, because when they offered her the job (not sure in what medium) they also said "do you know what visa you'll need?" and that's...

Re: Offered job but told to do the visa legwork on your own?

Thanks for the responses. She's very eager to help out her employer as a friendly gesture - as I see it, friendly gestures are for friends. Not employers. If she's the one contacting a lawyer,...

Re: Moving to the USA: two young teachers... possibilities?
