Don't make the mistake of comparing pricing between CAD & GBP, you shouldn't consider that everything should just be doubled to get the canadian price. Remember you will, I assume, be earning dollars...

be sure your job offer includes medical benefits, as insulin etc here is very expensive, approx $1000 per month without medical cover

Go to your local pharmacy and ask, they usually have a list of doctors that are registering new patients, out local pharmasave were tremendous with this and found us an excellent doctor just recently...

We did one recce using a small tent and using campgrounds, especially in NS there are campgrounds everywhere, it is a much more popular pastime than in the UK and they all have modern conveniences...

Food prices seem to be going through the roof here also, twice already this year I have had to increase my weekly food budget. Now up to $180 per week for 2 of us, from approx $130.00 in January.

Great call! we stayed at Dal, for 2 weeks, when we landed 2 years ago for $25.00 per night, just off spring garden road, basic room with ensuite facilities, wifi internet everything you need.
