Re: Using VPN to watch British TV

NordVPN (and maybe others) has an app in the Amazon store, I could recommend having a separate device like an Amazon Fire HD ~($40) setup with UK applications, and permanently connected via VPN....

Re: Car Insurance - might be useful to someone

I had success with State Farm local agent, I know some people will find them expensive, I found them to be reasonable, and there's no substitution for going into an office and going through things...

Re: Driving license grief - Maven car share

I've used it a few times, mostly without issue, and when I have had an issue, they've refunded and given credit.

FYI...

Re: IRS Form 8938: e-file options

I would like more info on this if anybody knows of paid software that works. I paid for HRBlock this year as it “supported the form” only to find out it didn’t support extra pages, so for a second...

Re: Car Ownership cost USA v UK

Re: Car Ownership cost USA v UK

That sounds correct, they'll just want a letter of employment showing you earn enough.
I suspect people on visa's are low risk for them, as we'll likely be higher-than-average earners, and expected...

Re: The cost of motor insurance

This is great advice!!!

TL;DR -
* Get the maximum coverage and/or opt for an umbrella policy - you should have coverage for at least as much as you're worth.
* YOU are liable for getting sued...

Re: Got my L-1, moving in Nov: advice appreciated

Agree with pretty much everything here.

As for TV's, NTSC and PAL are not completely gone away, depending on how out of date you are :)

Definitely get your TV here, they're big and cheap....
