Re: electrical qualifications in france

Sockets are earthed.
It is the plug that determines whether the appliance in earthed or not.
Modern French electrical installations are safeguarded by circuit breakers for individual or small...

Re: Highly recommended tv

I use a VPN to allow me to change countries when I want access to websites that restrict access from overseas.
From the UK, I changed to a VPN server in France.

Re: CGT and Solidarity Tax

Sorry,
I am confused.
Are you saying that you have to sell your home within this time period or that you have to pay the tax in this time period after the sale?
In the UK, there was a change in...

Re: Brexit changes

Yes indeed - the rules changed in 2018 but I posted the information because of the change affecting the requirement to have 6 months validity when entering the EU next year.

Re: Brexit changes

Not "will" but "may".
If you don't need to travel within the last 6 months of your passport then you can wait until your expiry date before renewing.
The reason is that for some countries, the...

Re: Perpignan - good place to live?

I don't have anything against Perpignan but if I did it wouldn't be relevant.
Members of the forum have chosen their locations for their own personal reasons and you need to do the same.
You need...

Hi MM2000
Welcome to the forum
I would be careful of what you wish for.
You are fed up with the cold and wet but the summers have been getting hotter in France.
We had neighbours - she was French...

Re: Driving licence exchange again.

Yes I should have said apply for a UK licence unless you have a UK address.
However, the OP's licence has already expired and is therefore not valid in the UK.

Re: Removal Firms?

The answer may depend on where you live in the UK.
It is common where a client does not have a full load to move to be included as a part load with other deliveries.
The part loads may be packed in...

Re: Moving To France - LOTS of Questions

You will need to speak to the local Mairie regarding setting up gites.
You will also have to register a business structure for running them.
Hopefully others will point you in the right direction...

Macron promised French fishermen that they would not lose out after Brexit and has instructed Barnier accordingly.
The EU won't move forward...

If that is the case then it should apply the other way round.
I hope.

Re: Driving licence exchange again.

You can't hold a UK licence if you don't have a UK address.
If you are living in France then you will have to use your French licence in the UK.
For short visits, I don't anticipate any problem....
