On the GRO site, theres no option to order a "long form", I guess ordering a regular birth certificate here will contain the extra details?

I was born in the UK but never heard of a long form birth certificate before. Need it for my green card application apparently. Google has mixed results so not really sure how to approach this.

Yeah sorry, meant deposit.

Sounds like the best bet is to try and do it via my US bank then, didnt know if they would care about them printing the address.

My tax refund was sent to my UK address. The check has my UK address on the front.

Can I cash this at my US bank (despite it having a UK address printed)?

Or should I cash this at my UK bank...

Looks like I may need a copy of my UK medical history when going for the green card medical exam.

Just wondering, if I ring my GP should they be able to print this and I could then have a family...

I am no longer working in the US. My accountant mentioned I may need to do a 'partial' return for 2018, as well as the regular 2018 return at the start of 2019.

Can I just wait until...

I guess I just find it hard to make the distinction as I make an app as a hobby, if it happened to make any money that would count as passive income in my mind. Just like if I rent a house in the UK...

Yeah maybe, I was going off the fact that the US would tax world wide income and may class the other income stream as a job. Maybe I should just roll the dice.

So we all know the L1 visa is tied to your job and you can't change "employment". No issue with that.


In my spare time I have been working on a phone app. Say for example I sold it on the app...

This is my issue, the company I work at is changing rapidly and even if they agreed in principal to sponsor my GC, there's a chance they could change direction and scrap me. I'd rather have an option...

My girlfriends car insurance company is asking for my 'Motor Vehicle Record' so they can add me to her insurance policy.

afaik we don't have this in the UK. Before I go back to the insurance...

CA DMV says you must apply for a license within 10 days after becoming a resident
