Completed!

Well, I got my passport approved, and I'm good to go. Just wrapping up my life in the UK, selling all my stuff, selling my house, and then I'm off, probably in the middle of January.

I just...

Re: I-864 and domicile

Cheers to you both, we've spent months looking at places in the US, but it's all been online. I guess I could print off some emails from US estate agents? I'm just anxious, I guess.

Re: I-864 and domicile

As an aside, we've started the process of selling our house in the UK, and have several valuations in writing. Will this prove we're ready to buy a house in the US, and go towards re-establishing...

I-864 and domicile

Hello again! My final interview at the Embassy is on Wednesday, so I'm just going through all the forms, making sure I've got everything, and so on.

One of the final things is looking through the...

Re: Medical in Knightsbridge

Nice one, thanks tom.

Reading the horror story posted on this forum has got me worried, but all I can do is provide all the info I have.

Re: Medical in Knightsbridge

Ah well, I'm sure to be fine for all those things.

By the way, how long from having your interview did you get approval to go? Was it "go home and wait", and if so how long, or was it "here's a...

Re: Refused at interview - I-864

I've got a medical on Tuesday, and then this is going to be me, too. This is very handy information, but I'm sorry you had to go through with it.

Re: Medical in Knightsbridge

Things are in order, pretty much, and I now own about half as much stuff as I did six months ago, gradually preparing for the move.

So how long did you have to wait after the medical before you...

Re: Medical in Knightsbridge

Blood pressure's okay, thank heavens, I had it checked at my GP's the other week.

It's £250 now? And I've got to take a day off work and a train to London? Ah well, I've been saving money for...

Medical in Knightsbridge

Got my medical coming up in a few weeks, just wondered if anyone else had been to the one in London, had any useful / fun stories to share, etc.

I'm also intrigued about the blood test. Is it just...

DS-260 - wow, that's a lot of addresses

So, I'm currently filling in the DS-260, which is fine, up to the stage of remembering my old addresses. Bloody hell! I'd forgotten a few of them until I really started wracking my brain.

I just...

Re: Our experience flying cats in the cabin transatlantic

I'll probably end up doing that, but the cost per "upper" and "lower" kennel annoys me. If I can't just buy one, charge me for what it's actually going to cost, don't split it up to try and confuse...

Re: Our experience flying cats in the cabin transatlantic

That's going to probably be the option, but I was hoping for some bare-bones thing where I could also transport my stuff at the same time. Ah well.

Re: Our experience flying cats in the cabin transatlantic

Well, I was going to go with them and put them in the cabin (I'm not a moron, I'm aware they'd need feeding and so on).

Re: Our experience flying cats in the cabin transatlantic

Thanks everyone for these replies.

The form's done, now, and I'm collecting up the $420 for filing. So, is there like an idiot's guide for all the things I'll need to do anywhere? Like, "fill...

With zero indication that the sworn...
