Re: Simple income tax calculation question.

Not correct, I'm afraid.

Income from UK state pensions most definitely are taxable in Portugal, regardless of which country the bank account they are paid into is located. The only pensions that...

Re: how do I become a resident

To the best of my knowledge there is no tie-up between registering at the Câmara and an alteration to your tax residence status - you would personally have to alter that at a Finanças office. As you...

Re: Registering at an address but not living there

I think you were doing reasonably OK (other than that the EU clearly is not simply a trading bloc but we'll skip that for the time being), until you got to the final clause.

Would you regard the...

Re: Registering at an address but not living there

No, I haven't missed your point at all. I understood perfectly what you said. You, on the other hand, appear to have totally ignored my points, which are fully borne out by the link which Richard,...

Re: how do I become a resident

:goodpost: And that is precisely my understanding as well. As the OP appears, to all intents and purposes, to be fully resident in the UK at the moment and for an as yet indeterminate future period,...

Re: Registering at an address but not living there

There are EU rules about family reunification which every member state must abide by. They cover rights of EU citizens to have non-EU family members reside with them in all member states.

The only...

Re: how do I become a resident

I'm no expert I any of this side of things and the business of resident registration certificates vs actual residency / tax residency usually floors me when it's not just a straightforward permanent...

Re: Simple income tax calculation question.

I'll just add a little to what Richard's already said and apologies in advance if I unnecessarily repeat anything.

Yes, it exists and yes it's identical for dependent employment and pension income...

Re: Getting Brexit done

Funny you should say that - I can just see my Mum getting change in the Post Office or somewhere and refusing to take any of those. She'll be squinting at any suspects without her glasses on and...

Re: The end of the RNH is near?

Excuse the delay - had to get my hands on a working copy of Excel before I could comment on the PWC simulator.

It ought to appear in anything which purports to be a detailed summary or...

Re: how do I become a resident

Some media are correct.

It doesn't have to be unanimous. Also, it's merely a formality at this late stage :

Final approval comes from the Council of the EU...

Re: how do I become a resident

Have you any links to anything that's not behind a paywall?

EDIT - OK, I've found one. I reckon the Commons Library is an authoritative enough source.

Re: how do I become a resident

They do?

Both the President of the Commission and the President of the Council have signed - the latter represents all 27 of the heads of government or state in that institution in this case, does...

Re: Exchanging UK driving licence for Portuguese

Think I may have solved that mystery - it appears it might coincidentally have been updated (or updated again) on that page only yesterday. The whole site seems to be being updated or upgraded at the...

Re: Exchanging UK driving licence for Portuguese

I agree with mfesharne about the increase in the window for exchanging licences to 2 years.

However, aside from that (seeing as it doesn't seem to have worked its way onto the IMT and other sites...

Re: how do I become a resident

Yes, that's right.
