Re: Looking for brit friends near Louisville, KY

Just FYI gents, there is a Private Messaging system you can use to chat or make arrangements to meet, you might want to avail yourself of that rather than putting your real names and location on a...

Re: UK Voting From Abroad

If you're referring to me, then it was because I don't understand how it had a 'very substantial effect' on Brits living in the EU. Either they were ineligible to vote and therefore had been in the...

Re: UK Voting From Abroad

There are tons of people that pay tax in a country where they don't have a vote though, that's not unique to the UK.

I agree with brits1, I don't think I would expect (or would use) a vote after...

Re: Canada getting PR or work permit questions

You'll have a temp work permit, and therefore be able to stay in Canada until the expiration date on that. No need to apply for any other status (other than PR if you want to stay permanently, and...

Re: NEOM Potential Job

We have two teens and turned it down for that reason, along with the accommodation issues (even a 2 bed wouldn't work for us, never mind the studio they're currently putting families in!). But they...

Re: NEOM Job Offer Details

As said, depends on what you're earning now, so only you can answer that. Just add 20-25% to your current salary for a rough idea.

Re: Canada getting PR or work permit questions

We try to keep threads in the immi section just about visas. For general ‘life in Canada’ stuff please head to the main Canada forum. You could start a new thread in there.

Thx. :)

Re: Spouse visa no decision email

Yes, if you look through the Timeline thread you’ll find lots of others have experienced the same.

Re: NEOM Potential Job

You can't use the PM system as a newbie (it's an anti-spam measure), so please ask your question on the forum and hopefully somebody can help.

And welcome to BE.

Re: Prince Harry's new Job - what visa ?

Why would you think he's not Charles' son? I've seen a couple of daft things suggest he might be James Hewitts son, but that's been quickly discredited given Diana didn't even meet Hewitt until years...

Hi, where is 'here' please? You've posted this in The Welcome Inn so let us know which country you're referring to and a mod will move it for you. :)

Re: F3 visa how long in UK.

Hi, welcome to BE.

You can check it yourself on the Visa Bulletin. Unfortunately, as you can see from that, the wait is currently quite a bit longer than 10 years, currently Nov 2008 applications...

Re: The Moving to France FAQs

Your call obviously, but it would mean it's not just the responsibility of one person to compile the info then, so would make it much easier now and in the future. It's also a great way to be able to...

Re: The Moving to France FAQs

Just a suggestion, but might it be easier to do this as a Wiki post? Then that way it can be edited by anybody (or several people together) in the future to save one person having to take on the...

Re: Prince Harry's new Job - what visa ?

He’s not eligible to naturalise. Who knows what he’ll choose to do (or why) when he is.

Re: UK Paramedic moving to Canada visa advice

Ah, then no that wouldn't be enough unfortunately. About 470 or above would get you invited to apply for PR usually. Learning French wouldn't be worth it, the most you can score for a second language...

Re: Criminal record question

From the info in your other thread (ecstasy as well as cannabis) that means he'll definitely need rehab. If there's any doubt he can do an 'info only' app but tbh I think that would be a waste of...

Ah, ok. So yes, he hasn't got the ACPO which should detail all of them. But see my response above, seems he's definitely inadmissible from your previous thread? So I wouldn't waste anymore time, I'd...

Re: UK Paramedic moving to Canada visa advice

Your score is vital, as that will tell you if you'll be scoring enough to get PR without a job offer. Take the official test here (just say yes to English test for now and assume max points as a...

What 'record info' was this? Was it an ACRO cert (as mentioned above)?

He may not be inadmissible, depending on the exact crimes and sentences, but you'll soon find out if he is. If so, Criminal...

Re: UK Paramedic moving to Canada visa advice

Hi, welcome to BE.

A job offer isn't required to get PR via EE, but it will depend on your points score. So what are you scoring on the CRS?

Also, if you've just turned 30, have you looked at...

Re: NEOM Potential Job

There’s a phone number on the other NEOM thread, a search should bring it up.

With 3 children, assume you know the limitations with accommodation? Would be a heck of a squeeze unless you’re...
