I have never sent "UK passport photos". I have always sent off regular US passport photos and they have been accepted every time for me and my children's UK passports.

Comparing US and UK education systems is a bit like comparing apples and oranges. There are just too many differences. Having said that my GCSEs were evaluated at the same level as the US High School...
