Re: uk driver's licence - how to keep ?

Sorry if this sounds pathetic but I consider acquiring a British license to be one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. It was in July 2005, and I was 7.5 months preggars when I took my road...

Re: flying first time with 4 month old baby to uk

True, but I read:

From what I know flying your British child into the UK on an American passport isn't a major calamity, because all you have to do is go back to the airport and present the EU...

Re: flying first time with 4 month old baby to uk

Anyone entitled to a US passport must travel to the US using the American passport.

Re: flying first time with 4 month old baby to uk

As far as I know, on Delta and other airlines, children under 2 fly for free if they share your seat. If you pay for a seat for your baby, usually it's at a reduced rate. Call the different airlines...

Re: Finding out sex of the baby.

No offense, but that is really, really foolish of your mother. She had you, didn't she? :)

Don't sweat the small stuff. If your family doesn't want to know, for whatever reason, I don't think...

Re: Art or Pornography

Rushman, I meant no slight against you personally. I was speaking of today's men in a general sense.

If our daughter had a friend over, and other child became filthy and needed a bath, I'd do the...

Re: Art or Pornography

Sorry guys, but I got to page 11 of this thread and gave up reading to the end. Too tired to go further.

I don't think the image is pornographic, but I...

Re: bringing a uk car seat to use in the US

In 2006 my then 8-month-old daughter and I were flying back to the US for a visit.

Right about that time our child was big enough to use a forward facing seat, so I did some research on what kind...

Re: American gal....for now?

This is my final reply to you.

I live in West Sussex. West Sussex isn't London.

England is the size of Alabama. Living 20 miles away from a major city in England could easily put you into...

Re: American gal....for now?

I read your inital post with great interest, Colette. After you curtly replying you didn't want to live in the London, when I didn't mention London in the first place, I think you are the one who...

Re: American gal....for now?

Well when we find a comparable salary up north and pack our bags, I'll crow about it here! :D

My husband searches once a month on monster and other job sites, and has yet to find a job with better...

Re: American gal....for now?

Please allow me to clarify. I wasn't trying to imply up north was a bad area in which to live. Personally I'd love to live in Cornwall (knowing Corny isn't up north but it isn't the southeast), and...

Re: American gal....for now?

But depending on what your husband's specialty actually is, the good wage jobs aren't all over.

My husband is a Group IT Manager for 10 different companies, and he makes £55k and a company car. If...

Re: American gal....for now?

Colette, we don't live in London. And chances are your husband is going to earn his £55 wage (like my own husband) by working in the southeast.

Commuting by train is expensive and tiresome,...

Re: American gal....for now?

Seriously, many of the square box rooms here that I have seen have no windows.

Now there are other rooms similar in size to a box room, and it has a strange cupboard space for storage, and it has...

Re: American gal....for now?

We live 20 miles south of London in Crawley, West Sussex. Currently we're living in a 600 sq ft, two bedroom flat and our monthly rent is £750.

Most of the three bedroom houses in our area cost...

Re: Delta Airlines - one of the worst?

My frustration really lies with not being able to get a concise answer from any Delta employee. It's fine if they don't want to provide hot water, and it's ok if they can't guarantee me a fruit plate...

Re: Delta Airlines - one of the worst?

My family is also forced to use Delta, and for an airline that flies internationally, I was amazed how inept they were. Granted, I flew with them for years without too much hassle, but then the kid...

Re: Evolution Wins in Michigan Curriculum

Oh I wish this were true, but slowly kids are being conditioned as to what they can and can't do. Pretty soon not running, not sliding into home base, not jumping on a trampoline, not using weights,...

Re: Evolution Wins in Michigan Curriculum

I have racked my brain to come up with one single instance where:

a) Evolution/Creationism reared its ugly head when I was in public school

OR

b) Evolution/Creationism was argued about in...
