Re: 2009-2019 - 10 Years in Vancouver

Re: Am I over-judging Canada?

Please keep in mind I've only read the OP

My gut reactions are:

Re: Still confused over appliance voltage

The answer to products like Karchers is usually: Sell it and buy a local one if and when you need it.

To best answer your question: A few appliances in a typical home (dryer and oven mainly) are...

Postal Voters: Anyone feel cheated out of their vote due to unrealistic timelines?

I'm living in Vancouver, BC, Canada, but this could apply anywhere outside of 1 day postal range for the UK. Yesterday, 5th May, I have only just received my postal voting package. I've posted it...

Re: Citizenship Tests- Agghh

You don't have to memorize either. Do learn the book and do practice questions though.

You should take all those documents and any other document you included in your application so far.

Re: Passport photos?

I had mine done a couple of years ago with London Drugs ones. They were cut down to size, and the passport was issued no problems at all. Makes sure you have the spec sheet (print from website) and...

Re: Returning to the UK

Mainly so you can always come back if you wish. The idea is that you do not let circumstances, paperwork etc stop you from changing your mind. I always try to stop people from going "oh well I'll...

Now this is the interesting bit. Contrary to what the website says, they said wait three days before applying for a passport. I strongly suspect...

Re: Can I use the NEXUS Lane when I need a new i94 at Pacific Crossing?

Honestly, I've worked out that they seem to like the following form of declaration when asked "anything to delare?"

"[amount] in non-grocery, [amount] in grocery"

E.g. $200 non-grocery, $300...

Re: Can I use the NEXUS Lane when I need a new i94 at Pacific Crossing?

And here's how it turned out.

Pacific Crossing (otherwise known as the truck stop...) was where I crossed. I used the NEXUS lane without an I94W with no problems. When I got to the US Border Guard...

Re: Can I use the NEXUS Lane when I need a new i94 at Pacific Crossing?

I'm a NEXUS Card holder and currently a PR in Canada
My last i94 has run out and has been returned by post (British passport holder by the way)
It's a long weekend (we...

Re: Do you still have to wait 2 days after your Citizenship Ceremony before Passport

I'd have that if it were an option... but I'll just have to keep my Citizenship Certificate next to my (British) Birth Certificate (copy since I lost the original)

Re: Canadian Passport (from the UK)

Just chiming in to say that this is 100% worth doing. It will give them easier access to the USA (through NAFTA Visas) and of course Canada. After Uni, I did a year in Whistler and wow would it have...
