Re: Moving to Dubai - Sponsor my Wife during her 30 day Entry Visa

https://amerdubai.ae/

There are multiple centres in Dubai and I have found it easier to walk into one than contact them online - you may have better luck than me though.

Re: Opening business in UAE but live in UK

I came across a tax account recently online who handles these sorts of issues. It seems there are ways to take advantage of this even as a non-resident (resident is better of course).

I can't...

Re: Buying/investing in UK as a UK Expat

It's always good to frame any investment decision around specific goals before going ahead with anything. There's a lot of different investments out there and some fit specific goals better than...

Re: Moving to Dubai - Sponsor my Wife during her 30 day Entry Visa

Assuming your wife is also a UK citizen she will get 30 days on arrival as a visitor (they give about 10days grace period before fines of some AED100 a day start to be applied).

If you have all...

Re: Possible move to Dubai

If you're looking to avoid the 60 day exits you can either get married and your fella can then sponsor you, or you can find a job. Lots of nurseries in Dubai - salaries seem to be stagnating but if...

Re: Dubai Employment contract termination Dubai

It seems unlikely there would be legal consequences as you haven't started, been sponsored by them, nor has any money etc been given. But it would be a courtesy to inform them immediately and state...

Re: Scottish Independence Referendum Oct 23

The irony here is that it was the King of Scotland who came to London to sit on the English throne - beginning the Union. He was not universally welcomed by the English commoner and even the nobles...

Re: Sending money abroad through SABB bank

I've been using a currency transfer company for over a decade, and still recommend them to my clients. They have a presence in the UK, Spain, Dubai and Portugal. I'd be happy to make an introduction...

Re: Should I make voluntary contributions to national insurance?

You may not meet the criteria to make contributions if you haven't paid in for three years (if memory serves) so you'll need to check with them first what your status is, which can be done over the...

Re: Connectfreelance - freelance visa

Questions 2, 3 and 4 should be answered by this company if you ask them directly.

As for question 1 - sorry, I have no experience of this company.

Re: UAE health insurance

Usually companies are supposed to provide this - even if they don't cover the whole family they can add the family to your plan (at your expense) which will usually be cheaper than taking your own...

Re: rejoining the EU

Certainly, but it's measurably harder now than in the 90s or 80s. I grew up in a very poor area in a broken home and we never had food banks for example. Somehow we managed. I remember the curtains...

Re: rejoining the EU

I never said it hasn't hurt the UK. Joining the EU hurt certain segments of the UK and leaving it would also hurt certain segments. I suppose if one only looks at a nation as a macro-economic entity...

Re: rejoining the EU

The problem with this is they are not always right - believing one is right and being right are two separate things.

And then there's a major problem of needing people to achieve things - so...

Re: rejoining the EU

There's an old saying that British people would rather be right than liked.

Then again, I think practical suggestions and actions of how to improve things from the ground up rather than begging...

Re: rejoining the EU

Re: Dubai 10 year Golden visa

You can own 100% without having a Golden Visa these days so it's not a specific perk of the Golden Visa.

If you have your own company and visa, Golden or not - you'll be paying out your own pocket...

Re: rejoining the EU

I think some people would rather see the UK fail if they cannot get their way.

If one was serious about rejoining the EU the first thing one would do would talk to the EU about what terms they...

Re: rejoining the EU

Spot on.

There's also the fact that most people who benefitted were not working class - and such people, while often claiming to 'hate the rich' (well those, richer than themselves) reserved a...

I think some people don't get basic economics.

Then again I think people have a right to moan about vast sums being sent overseas or on tens of thousands of incoming asylum seekers at a time when...

Re: Brexit Opportunities

I think this just shows that the UK needs better worker protection - something it can have in or out of the EU.

One thing is certain - UK politicians need to be a lot more accountable than they...
