Re: Homesick in Wisconsin

I agree with this - finding joy in absolutely nothing sounds like clinical depression.

Re: I-407 - giving up green card

I don't disagree that it says it, I disagree with the statement.

Re: I-407 - giving up green card

It's also total crap. If you have a valid ESTA or Visa an airline is not going to refuse to board you absent another reason such as being DD.

Re: 2020 Election

While that's of course true, there's no real denying that the job can literally be golf one minute and end of the world life and death the next.

Bush was sat with school children when the world...

Re: Staying in the US as UKC

If the Officer believes that you entered the US with the intention to adjust status (which is illegal) then they will deny your application and place you in removal proceedings.

Then you get the...

Re: Staying in the US as UKC

You're an adult. Adults can handle delayed gratification, children do what feels good in the moment.

You won't get much sympathy for that view here, many of us have been through it and came out...

Re: Staying in the US as UKC

You can try to adjust status but if it goes badly you can end up with a lifetime ban from the US. I guess it depends on how high your risk tolerance is.

Personally I don't believe a word of what...

Re: I-407 - giving up green card

You may never get confirmation in all honestly. I would just go about my life treating it as if it's been completed unless there's some reason you need confirmation.

Re: Meanwhile in Florida

Perhaps not Florida related specfically, but I should imagine that this is the general concensus down there too.

My boss asks me yesterday what my thoughts are on the 2A. I told her that I was a...

Re: Pregnant without health insurance

I'm not sure what people are referring too as 'Emergency Medicaid' - but usually that literally covers ER visits only.

Re: Pregnant without health insurance

This makes me want to beat my head into a wall. As a healthcare finance worker, I can tell you that people in this situation cost thousands in reimbursed care every year. I don't agree with Trump and...

Re: Moving to the US

As long as you remain married to the same USC. If you get divorced, it reverts to 5.

Re: London B1/B2 in Administrative Processing for 7 months

Unlikely I'm afraid. All USCIS has to say is 'National Security' and that'll be the end of that.

Re: 2020 Election

As opposed to Obama that sounded like (the very much alive at the time) Osama B-L?

Honestly, the things we choose to care about

Re: The Kitty Cat Thread

Tiger is just the opposite - other than the odd litter box kicking party he's a quiet cat. Based on what's going on when I get up for a drink, he takes it as his sleepy time too and curls up on the...

Re: US Tax Returns

I've been a Turbotax user for the last 5 years, never had a problem. Although the cost to file can be a little painful if you end up with some complicating factors and you go up the chain of the...

Re: N400 Interview and processing times

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

Yes it is certainly worth nothing that the biometrics photo is the one that is used for the certificate.

Re: Let's talk about cars

Hmmm. Not sure I have personally seen anyone do that.

Not the lack of signalling on the other hand, that is irritating. Especially if they slam on their brakes about 5 yards before the turn when...

Re: 2020 Election

Um... simply cause and effect. Without Trump ordering the death of an Iranian general, Iran would not have been on high alert and mistakenly fired at a passenger plane.

What exactly is the break...

Re: UK trained CT Radiographer looking to move to and work in California

Re: Are these "crimes of moral turpitude"

Resisting arrest can be a felony in the US so more than possible it will be considered a CIMT.

It appears from a cursory look that the offence has a maximum UK custodial sentence of 6 months, so...

Re: Will my child need to file taxes in US when old enough

This is one of those threads that makes me wonder if the internet was just designed to cause an argument over everything.

Is she a USC? Yes. Do USCs need to file a tax retirn on worldwide income?...
