Re: UK driving license - Swapped for full G in Ontario- swap back?

I don’t have my driving license number unfortunately. Do I just have to provide my most recent UK address from when we lived there last?

We moved to Canada just over 5yrs ago and are considering moving back to the UK next summer.

I passed my test in a manual car in the UK and was able to just swap it for a full G license when we...

We arrived on a Sunday (Sept 7th) around 5pm and it took about 2.5hrs from getting to the immigration "room" at Pearson.

Re: Eligible for Citizenship question

:) thank you. I think by the time we get transcripts etc we'd be just as well getting the test done! It just cracks me up that we've lived and worked here for what will be 4yrs by the time we apply...

Re: Eligible for Citizenship question

We didn't do it for PR as it wasn't a requirement. The two younger ones won't need to do it - they are currently 9 and 3 but the eldest will be 20 when we apply so she will likely need to do it.

Re: Eligible for Citizenship question

That's my point, she can decide if she wants it or not. If she can apply herself then I'll leave her to do so (and save myself the application fee and the language test fee!).

Re: Pros and Cons of Dual Citizenship (English-born and Canadian resident)

I like Trudeau so I'd be voting to keep him. With regards to voting in general, I'm very passionate about voting and feel that everyone should vote if they are able - especially women. I have 3...

Re: Pros and Cons of Dual Citizenship (English-born and Canadian resident)

You can vote as a citizen and can't as a PR. One of the main reasons I want to get my citizenship when we're eligible :) Oh and to be able to check in online for flights going anywhere else except...

Re: Eligible for Citizenship question

Yeah, I misjudged what I was reading. It was just under 2yrs on the TWP and then after 2yrs as PR's and taking travel dates into account it'll be later in the year or this time next year. That's OK...

Eligible for Citizenship question

It's been a while since I last posted on ExPats (although I've pointed many people in this direction!).

We came to Canada Sept 7th 2014 on a TWP, we got PR and landed beginning of June 2016. We...

Re: Entering Canada if PR Card delayed?

My PR card arrived within 6 weeks of landing. I also had no issue whatsoever travelling with just my landing paperwork (I went on 4 different work trips to the US in between landing and getting my PR...

Re: No PR Card - border crossing

I travel regularly to the US for work and they just look at my landing paperwork. Luckily my PR card came today but it has never even raised an eyebrow for me crossing back into Canada.

Re: PNP Applicants (Within Canada) - Share your timelines

I opened another thread. I assumed you needed to pay for new paperwork when you re-entered and they gave you your landed paperwork. I was wrong!

Re: Flagpoling Question

I know the medical card does - it was only valid for the length of our TWP's. I will look at my driving licence. Thank you for the tip!

Re: Flagpoling Question

No I meant the permit cost. I know about the $6. I'll be driving across and I'm the only one with a valid ESTA.

Flagpoling Question

I've looked for the past 30 mins on the wiki and old threads but can't find the answer.

Re: PNP Applicants (Within Canada) - Share your timelines

I feel so excited. And Conflicted....

Re: PNP Applicants (Within Canada) - Share your timelines

I've told my hubby to check as he gets the emails. The excitement is palpable although slightly pointless as we've decided to go home! Lots of factors in the decision but who knows what the future...

Re: PNP Applicants (Within Canada) - Share your timelines

I REALLY REALLY hope so. It's taken such a long time and it has shown that even though you might mirror someones timeline pretty closely it makes no difference in the end :)
