Re: Legal advice - capacity to contract

IANAL, although my wife and brother are (but not in UAE).

I don't want to sound cynical, I am not a mental health expert. But I would imagine that trying to overturn a financial decision after a...

Re: Unspent UK conviction and want to move to UAE

I am pretty sure that convictions for dangerous driving are considered bonus points when exchanging a license in Dubai. Unless enforcement and standards have improved dramatically since I left.

Re: Cost of Portuguese Lessons

My experience of learning languages (German, Chinese, Portuguese) is that small group classes are best, maybe 4-6 people, because it encourages conversation. And don't get a teacher who speaks any...

Re: Ship belongings or start from new?

Very much depends on where you are coming from and how much yours are worth.

We came to Portugal from Dubai few years ago, my wife insisted on bringing our stuff, even though we didn't really have...

Re: "The Sandpit" ?

Some said when the Irish republic was formed, that it was doomed. Ireland was historically a poor, wet part of the UK, to the average Brit, the Irish were idiots and drunks. They wouldn't be able to...

Re: Missing Princess

I can only assume this is "fake news" because there is nothing on the The National about this, not even when I search in their site for "Latifa".

I am not sure "Sheikh Mo is a ******" is...

Re: Biggest Problems being an Expat in Portugal

Where I am, about 35 mins south of Lisbon, we have excellent choice of internet. We can get fibre from Nowo, Nos, Meo or Vodafone. We have 100mbs, but they offer more now. And I actually get that...

Re: Thats torn it

Has anyone noticed whenever the UK looks to be disadvantaged, that old 1373 treaty between Portugal and UK is dragged up, and Portugal is expected to make good because of "our special relationship"....

Re: Global Corona Death predictions

Absolutely this. All the conspiracy theories "if you get hit by a bus, it's logged as covid" are generally backed up by nothing other than anecdotal evidence. I've lost count of the number of people...

Re: 2021

That's the spirit. Chin up and look for the positives! This is what Britain needs, the wartime spirit! And powdered eggs and women rubbing gravy powder on their legs. Who needs money or fresh veg...

* Vaccine roll out will be slower than expected due to various hitches, and conspiracy theorists not taking in, so covid goes down, but not anywhere near enough for life to get back...

So far, we're mainly focusing on the first countries to get it - China, Spain, Italy, Germany, UK, US. These are all countries...
