As far as I kow it applies to any property, just like the second home imputed rental income tax applies to second homes in the UK.

If you are letting the property as a long term residential let, you only pay tax on 40% of the net rental. Also you get some generous expenses deductions.

So, you will probably pay no tax in Spain...

Yes, I was forgetting that his only income was from rental properties - a pretty unusual situation as it is rare for someone to have no other income.

Those figures are incorrect. You get a personal allowance of 6700 if over 65 and 8100 if over 75 plus everyone gets another 2000 general allowance, and if you have a low income, you get another...

If you have plenty of equity in the UK, just buy a €500k property in Spain and they will give you residency, subject to a few rules such as needing health cover.

There may well be a campaign in Spain, but it would be the EU that would have to change the Schengen rules with the agreement of all the other Schengen states.

No, you can only reclaim the Spanish tax from HMRC if you have paid HMRC tax on the same rental income. As you havent paid any UK tax, you cant claim it back from the UK.

As I said, the medical centre do all the work. You pay them for the medical and also for the renewal (including the photo) at the same time.

You will pay tax on the UK net rental income in Spain. It will be added to your other income.

The pension lump sum will be taxed in both UK and in Spain and you can claim any Spanish tax paid...

They will still need a licence for a scooter and it’s only a matter of time before the electric “skateboards” will need one. They are already subject to most of the normal road rules.

I would add that the helath insurance has to be total. No exclusions for pre-existing medical conditions (who hasnt got one of those!) and no Co-payments.

Not necessarily. Most Crown pensions are only taxed in the UK, so there is a significant number of people who pay UK tax but are disenfranchised by the 15 year rule.

It is still illegal to cross the border from Andalucia into Portugal without an essential excuse - going for lunch is certainly not acceptable.

It’s the program supplied by AEAT which all tax declarations go through. Your tax advisor will use it, the guy in the tax office uses it and if you do it yourself, you will use it. A tax declaration...
