Re: Winter Temperatures in Costa Blanca

Likewise. A few Kms inland from Torrevieja - ice on the roof terrace after heavy rain earlier in January. I think that was possibly 2004.

Re: Post EU Referendum

Exactly. It was just a binary choice. There was no political room for a 'third option'. If anyone had suggested the idea of paying for a trade deal they would have been ridiculed by the EU as well as...

Re: Post EU Referendum

Equally extreme remainers would hate the idea of reverting to a 'common market' relationship between the UK and EU.

Paying a price for a decent UK/EU trade deal seems a reasonable prospect to me.

Re: Scenes in Catalonia

No doubt the Jackboot brigade are relishing the thought of an EU militia - ready to quell any dissent. Juncker's pathetic groupies ready to bear arms

Re: Tories in chaos

My own observations relate to close acquaintances who say they are feeling the pinch (some claim UC).

In their case it's common to have contract or PAYG inclusive minutes along with near top of...

Re: Harvey Weinstein

It seems that many celebs/film stars become born again Mother Teresa's once they've 'made it' in their careers.

Same sort of hypocrisy where soft porn music videos demonstrate 'girl power' -...

Re: Strange mobile problem UK-Spain

Just an update. The problem appears to be finally fixed!

Between them, TalkTalk and Vodafone (their network) were not able to replicate or fix my problem. You would have thought that in these days...

Re: Strange mobile problem UK-Spain

Thanks for the feedback.

The ones that didn't get through definitely dialled correctly. My wifes spanish mobile (currently here in the UK) fails when trying to phone my TalkTalk - it gets through...

I'll let you know.

Re: Strange mobile problem UK-Spain

Thanks for the inputs.

TalkTalk have finally got back to me. They've asked me arrange a couple of timed test calls from Spain so that they can analyse the problem.

I don't think it's a SIM...

Re: Strange mobile problem UK-Spain

Yes, calls from UK numbers seem ok irrespective of their physical location.

Calls from Spanish numbers (only mobiles tried) do not work. First noticed a couple of weeks ago when I was in Spain.

Re: Strange mobile problem UK-Spain

Thanks Bob.

Calling Spanish numbers is not a problem. It's the other way round ie. Spanish numbers calling my TalkTalk sim, with the correct 0044 UK prefix.
As I say, Spanish texts get through...

Re: Strange mobile problem UK-Spain

As far as I know I've never used a call blocker. Is that something on the phone or Sim?

BTW. I've used another UK Sim (PAYG) in the phone (same slot) with no problem, which indicates it's...

Strange mobile problem UK-Spain

If anyone has any thoughts on this I'd be most grateful.

Firstly, am I right in assuming that a Spanish (SimFree) mobile is fully compatible with a UK Sim? (as mobile manufacturers treat...

Re: UK General Election

Firstly, congratulations to Labour for running a far more effective and (importantly) nimble campaign. TM was atrocious.

Even though a minority Govt is a bad option, I would have preferred Labour...

Re: Terror incidents in London....

It appears that the 'British Indian Empire' shared a border with Afghanistan. So not 'the state of India'. So you're right. So what?

Re: UK General Election

Interesting. I had a similar thought in 2010...
