A thank you to fatbrit, noorah and a few select others that actually helped me with questions.

If I left anyone out that helped me sorry....otherwise just assume you...

Good curry in NYC

Any decent places to go in NYC where the food isn't $30 a plate and tastes good?

Re: The Role of Biometrics

Yes, I'm showing off by posting probably the most famous and well known physics deduction of all time and one that virtually every high school or even junior/middle school student in practically...

Re: The Role of Biometrics

Nope that specific post was hostile but then again I never was one to allow myself to be insulted without giving a retort. As a much smarter man than I once wrote "Actioni contrariam semper et...

Re: The Role of Biometrics

I think you and a few others have missed the boat on this one. You say I'm whining like I'm still waiting for the EAD/AP. I, rather, am failing to understand the logic that if those documents are a...

Re: The Role of Biometrics

So what you're saying jeff is the EAD/AP are not guaranteed. But others have said as long as you have a completed 485 then it's certain.

Re: The Role of Biometrics

I have "dealt" with it, and if you were paying attention to a recent thread I made you would know where I am in "dealing with it." Still the logic behind anything other than a 30 day or less EAD/AP...

Re: The Role of Biometrics

Another good point, however, is it still certain, and because it is certain it should be quick, right? You mentioned earlier about a 30 day AP which as you know is not the norm. The average is 60...

Re: The Role of Biometrics

Excellent point and if both are certain once the tests are passed then why would it take more than a month as you yourself said to get a government issued ID. Both are certain.

Re: The Role of Biometrics

But the EAD/AP is certain. A driver's license requires a paper test, eye exam, and a road test. That's 3 elements to get a driver's licenese. The EAD/AP is dependent on a completed AOS. So logically...

Re: The Role of Biometrics

Well in FL, GA, and CT 3 states I've lived in it is the same day. So in my experience a government issued ID that isn't attached to a government employer is quick and efficient.

Re: The Role of Biometrics

A driver's license is a government issued card too, and that's not a slip of paper.

Re: The Role of Biometrics

But why require any sort of biometrics for the EAD? If it is certain once the 485 is correctly filed then why spend the extra time putting it into a card. Either way and it's still 100% certain. Why...

Re: The Role of Biometrics

Ok well maybe the same day approval is too optimistic but why not start both the EAD and AP the first week. Surely if they checked the 485 for correct filing during the first week and decided to...

Re: The Role of Biometrics

Yes, but still if the EAD/AP is automatic why spend months processing then when they are guaranteed? Why not start production of an EAD card and AP papers the day they receive the 485 for everyone....

Re: The Role of Biometrics

I guess my confusion stems from the previous claims some members made that the EAD/AP is 100% guaranteed, an automatic process. If that is the case and I believe the people who made the claims are...

Completely OT: The Role of Biometrics

originally addressed to 'Ian'

You mentioned before that side benefits of an AOS like EAD and AP doesn't matter if the AOS is denied which I understand. But if the entire process is dependent on...

Re: Grounds of Admissibility

Oh noes you caught me red handed fat. I woulda gotta away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky kids. I overstayed an F-1 of which the I-20 expired in Dec 08.

Edit: The I-20 I believe ended my...

Re: Grounds of Admissibility

"Q: What is the requirement of Grounds of Admissible for I-485 application?

A: The I-485 applicant should be "admissible", i.e. he or she is not subject to the grounds...

Grounds of Admissibility

I read on the interweb that there are finite rules for admissibility for an AOS one of them being never having broken a non-imm status. Those of you familiar with me might be able to help. This...

Employment question

This has probably been asked a dozen times but once you receive the EAD what exactly is required in order to obtain a job, i.e. the EAD, resume, and what else?

Re: Need recommendations: I think I messed up!

Ah so it's the rule they use to determine intent whether the IR actually planned to stay rather than arriving with the intention of leaving. Gotcha.

What is this 60 day timeframe you're talking about? All I've ever heard from anyone at uscis is 90 days or more for the EAD and AP. The last info pass appointment I attended I asked about the online...

Re: Early biometrics

Isn't the fingerprints what usually results in the longest wait though? I was told by the 800 line that the fingerprints have to be sent back before anything further is done with any case, and IO's...
