Thanks Kiwipaul. That makes sense that the CG is only from the point of purchasing an Australian residence when I can no longer claim that the London place is PPOR.

I bought the house 13 years ago, so would make a healthy profit. I'm just trying to minimise the tax.

Don't ever fly 'Thomson Fly' - they are terrible. We flew with them one Xmas before we moved here. Wanted to spend Xmas with partner's family and left it late and the price seemed good in comparison...

I just rang the OFT and they told me that the agent IS allowed to tell me what the offer is. But not allowed to divulge who it's from. It's totally up to them if they tell the buyer what the other...

The house is for auction but the owner is willing to sell prior. The agent did say a specific offer for the place (ie, 620k) had been put...

Sorry I really can't remember (but it's def cheaper to store here in Aus than it would be to store in UK and ship out later). But it is based on cubic footage...We only had about 250cuft - my place...

Oh forgot to say - they are really flexible with how long you leave it there. We didn't know when we'd exactly get to Syd and didn't have an address there. Mind you we did have an Aussie address at...

We got one month's storage free. And 2 months storage insurance included in the price . They matched this as the others - DB and John Mason's - offered it.

Overall, I think we only paid for one...

We only had a small load but treated...
