You seem to have a good understanding of the immigration process. If you have your heart set on Ontario I think you have laid out all your options in your post.

It's a pity that age loses points :(

I recieved 'ready for visa' email/ PPR on the 15th.

Looks like they are starting to hand them out to outland candidates again. Hopefully this might mean they are looking at making travel...

I agree, there's no point in waiting.
Draws are a bit messed up right now, the last few have been to CEC and PNP candidates only. If more CEC draws are made the points needed for this kind of draw...

I looked into taking the exam a short while ago but for Manitoba. Same story, you have to live there.
I researched some other provinces and most were the same, however you can take the C of Q exam...

Try not to feel down. I was in a similar situation not too long ago, it could still work out for you.
It might be worth keeping an eye on the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, you never know...

​​​​​​That is true enough, it is a pity that in regards to UK immigration rules for some countries has been better others.
It seems our shared Commonwealth history has almost been forgotten.

In a way I think it is crazy that it has become so difficult to move to Canada. I am a tradesman also and if I had waited another 6 months I would have dropped below the points needed for EE...

Seeing that you are working in Canada have you considered taking a trades exam?
If you take and pass the exam it should give you the same points as a job offer.

I had similar issues with proof of funds. Hardly any of the details I needed were on the reference given, I had to go into bank and luckily I got another reference from the manager stating everything...

I was down on 380 points before nomination from Manitoba and feeling down but it can still work out.

I can't say for higher up qualifications but I gained a one year diploma from the Open University UK.
I had the diploma assessed for immigration by WES and they gave the equivalent of a one year...
