Re: 11 & a bit year update :)

Hi Gra
Good to hear your update.
We will have to find a good pizza next time we're in Oamaru (normally get up for a day or weekend at some time during the summer), and will look out for your son...

Re: New Zealand Hype

Reminds me, I was at a recent conference where a senior Tourism NZ marketing exec was talking about the 100% Pure brand. In answer to a pointed question from the floor, he responded that it is only...

Re: We've been back in the UK just over 6 months now

Thanks for the update Matt. Nice website and glad to hear everything has turned out great.
I think I saw in the paper the other day a leopard seal had hauled up on your old local beach.

Re: Otago area, things to do.

Only place I might add to your shortlist would be Stewart Island, for 1-2 nights. Is a magical place.

I did a road trip Mt Cook and Queenstown a week or so back. It is turning out to be a very...

Bevs,
Overplay.net is what we use if you wanted to look at another one. Always has been good customer service.

Re: Netflix. Is it worth it please?

I agree - we have a smart DNS service for about $5 a month to get all the free to air stuff in the UK (BBC, ITV, etc) and also we like SBS in Australia that has a good movie catalog. That plus...

Re: New quotas - and the market response

I agree with your sentiment - immigration is their main political weakness so they had to be a bit pragmatic and look like they were addressing it. Won't make a lot of difference overall, and I think...

Re: New Zealand School System Comparison?

Other definition to look out for is Integrated schools. These are typically high schools that were once private, but opted to integrate back into the mainstream, government funded "public" school...

Re: Impressions of Blenheim please?

Only reason that bit of road might be dodgy is if there are cyclists doing a wine tour. Road is straight, flat and wide so no issues that I'm aware of, and there are several alternative routes also....

Re: NZ Conservation

I think it is good we have a long term goal as well as some shorter term stuff. Long term goal will give some impetus and encouragement to some local groups already wanting to take the next steps on...

Re: Moving to Queenstown

Hi
I did casual/itinerant work in Queenstown many decades ago, and it was a really fun and exciting place to be. Even back then accommodation during the high (summer or ski) seasons was really hard...

Re: Sick of the RWC 2015 already

Interesting, and fair I think too. Plenty of peeps I know don't give a hoot about the rugby and no doubt will be pleased when it gets off the front page / top of the news bulletin.
On reflection,...

Re: Nice Family Friendly Areas in Dunedin?

Was in paper today that average Maori Hill house price has broken through $500k, so almost certainly there will be some "OK" houses for around $400.
