If you already have residency ie the green cars, you don't have to take out expensive health insurance, you can pay per visit to a BP and vet a prescription that way, also the convenio if under oap...

Have you looked at Portugal, it's a much better deal when it comes to taxes and healtcare is residency based entitlement.

I am an EU citizen but she needs it to retaun her independence, if something was to happen me and she was relying on me for healthcare etc, this way she can get her own S1 from the UK

When we go back to Spain we will be staying there were are home now is. We left before the travel restrictions were put in place and the reason for coming to the UK was to wind everything down here...

I think he is living in cloud cuckoo land. A lot of places accept full home ownership with no bills attached and full healthcare cover. I think your income in Spain is more than enough to live on.

We walked away from a very similar situation on the advice of our lawyer. We were also told any potential buyers (if at some stage we decided to sell) would not be able to get a mortgage.
