Re: Moving to Canada

I don’t think there is a skilled list any more. Have you taken the points tests to see if you are eligible for a visa? There are people on here wiser than me who can give you the appropriate links....

Re: arpitaggarwal89's Spousal Sponsorship questions

Rather confused. Is this a spousal sponsorship question? If it is, don’t you just have to be married? Or “together” etc...?

Re: Total cost (everything included)

where would you be moving to? When we moved 10 years ago I’d say it cost 30,000 GBP and upwards. Would you have jobs in place?

Re: Looking to move from Midlands UK too New Brunswick Canada

I don’t think you can just ”buy” a business on Canada and go and work for it. As far as I know the self employed route is for artists and athletes. What line of business are you in?

Re: Move to Canada - Starting the process

The 67 score is the initial test set by the Canadian immigration bods to establish if you are eligible to apply for immigration. I think it's largely based on age and education (can't honestly...

Re: Move to Canada - Starting the process

As everyone has said, the 67 points to be eligible to apply are pretty easy to achieve. It is the CRS score that is crucial to success. If you can give people an idea of that score, it's easier to...

Re: Social worker's looking to come to Canada

Welcome! What is your CRS score? I think the Express Entry part of the Permanent Residency process is likely going to apply to quite a lot of people. as Souxie said, it’s the CRS score that is the...

Re: Where to move in BC - Young family with one child

Will what you do for a living have an impact on where you can live? We’re on Vancouver Island, but I have (had) to travel a fair amount which internationally adds another leg to most journeys.

Re: Credit line / credit rating prior to move

We managed to get a $25k line of credit through HSBC when we moved 10 years ago. We didn’t have jobs or an address, but we did have a good UK credit history and a reasonable amount in the bank. I...

Re: Vancouver Island (mobile phone, internet, utilities)

We have Shaw for Cable and internet, Rogers for 'phones. We don't have a house landline. We barely use cable TV but it comes in a bundle with our internet, so I can't be bothered to cancel it. We...

I'm applying for a LMIA for one of my US Directors who I want to be able to also work in Canada. Luckily the guy I want over here is one of the world's leading neuro scientists, so I haven't received...

Both our girls went through the elementary system here in BC. But at Grade 8 the local High School is one of these "progressive - self paced" places. We felt compelled to put our eldest into the...

Re: Express Entry Visa

The points system is there for a reason. If you're scoring 484 points, that means you're likely to get an ITA and so will be able to immigrate to Canada. Once you have your permanent residency status...

Re: Is moving from the UK really worth it?!

It’s something you either want to do or not. It isn’t all about economics. It’s in your heart and soul. I’d rather liken it to Brexit. You either want it or you don’t - irrespective of the economic...
