Re: Recovery of deleted files

Usually it's impossible to recover deleted files that have been removed from the recycle bin because once the file is deleted Windows has permission to overwrite it. It's a time sensitive thing. ...

Re: Flickering screen laptop

It's your graphics card that's going out on you. Normally when I see blocks like that the card is the culprit. If it's a driver issue then you'd get a BSOD first before getting blocks. Just so...

Re: Help! Microsoft Outlook Exchange Server Mailbox Manager Report

Check with your IT department to see if you can create a PST folder to store your emails off the exchange server. You may or may not be able to. Also since your email is on a server they need to be...

Re: Firefox crashes

You may want to launch Firefox in 'Safe Mode'. Most likely it's a recently installed extension that's causing it to hose up. I'd check to see if you have any issues then. Otherwise I'd look at...

Re: Lost internet connection from one laptop, other 2 still working?!?!?!

You might have fatfingered and turned OFF the wireless card by mistake. I'd check to see if there is a function key that looks like an 'A' with radio signals coming from it. I'd also look for a...

Re: HTML help

I see where the mistake is. Anytime you have characters in between the text area tag then those characters will show up in the text area when the page loads. I'd look at the characters that appear...

Re: Short trip back to UK - observations

Missed you too.:D I can't help but feel obligated though. My mom was a waitress and she hammered it home. I'll remember that the next time I'm in your neck of the woods. I'd loved to get back to...

Re: Short trip back to UK - observations

As you know I was in the New England area and can vouch for the amount of DD's in the area. I ate there twice during my stay and loved the hash browns and Munchkins. One can never get enough...

Re: Short trip back to UK - observations

I feel weird when I can't pump my own gas. It just comes second nature to me to get out of the car and fill it up. I was surprised when I went to Oregon about 6 years ago and only saw Full Serve...

Re: Can anyone read Windows minidump files for me?

I need you to go into device manager and tell me if there are any devices with a yellow question mark next to them.

Re: Can anyone read Windows minidump files for me?

I recommend going to your laptop manufacuter's site and download and install the Windows 7 drivers for your system, especially the chipset drivers.

Re: Can anyone read Windows minidump files for me?

Would you mind sending me the rest of the dump files using the same method? Thanks. So far I'm seeing that there is a driver failure. I have a feeling that the Windows Update included a hardware...

Re: Migrating from PowerPC to Intel Macs - Data/Programs issues?

Mate, I'd recommend using the Migration Assistant. It will take the guesswork of what is movable. Most likely the app's that you have on your Power PC will not work for the Intel based computer...

Re: Can anyone read Windows minidump files for me?

What kind of BSOD code are you getting? I can read the minidump and tell you what's going on if you like. Just be sure you let the system finish the entire memory dump when it blue screens. BTW,...

Re: What salary should I look for

Dude I have to disagree with you there. I NEVER put down salary requirements until a job has been offered. Even if they ask for it. I don't want to undersell or greatly oversell myself. I...

Re: A laptop to last me 5 years

My bad. The US pricing starts at 1599 for a 15". I reckon you might want to go with a 21" iMac instead. I can't really think of a PC laptop that comes with really good video editing software. The...

Re: A laptop to last me 5 years

Get a MacBook Pro. It's perfect for Photoshop, video editing (iMovie, iDVD, or Final Cut (if you have the money), and surfing the net. It will last you and has enough procesing power to get the job...

Re: The future of internet access

You pay the people that make sure it's up and running smoothly, for repairs, and upgrades. A lot of work goes into making something look effortless. The techs deserve the money.
