Re: On-line applications for Titres de Séjour

Yes, if you apply for the spouse CdS you won't use the Brexit portal, it will be a normal application at your préfecture.
From what I have gathered, there are a few 'limited and specific' advantages...

Re: On-line applications for Titres de Séjour

I don't think being married to a native will affect the process for getting a WA CdS at all. The WA protects your individual rights and the criteria are being a British citizen exercising EU freedom...

Re: On-line applications for Titres de Séjour

Sorry to confuse - when I said the site wasn't working I was referring to the BE forum site, picking up on the previous post to mine. By all accounts the cds site has held up amazingly well.

Re: Opening a French bank account

I imagine you have looked into this carefully but it's not immediately obvious that your partner will be covered by the Withdrawal Agreement if you get married in 2021.
This example in the FAQs is...

Re: Opening a French bank account

I thought we went through this in another thread. Maybe it was a different poster.
A contract will protect both you and your friend. The rent can be nil. It is a good idea to have a proper agreement...

Re: Opening a French bank account

Re: Opening a French bank account

An attestation d'hébergement would normally have to be accompanied by utility bills in any case, without them it's only half a job.
But I am just wondering whether your application is being dealt...

Re: Opening a French bank account

Is the partner relevant? As I understood it, she needs to stay UK resident for now. I imagine having the right to reside in the UK will allow her to spend 90/180 as a tourist in the EU if she wishes,...

Re: Opening a French bank account

Good point.
If you already had an account and you moved in with a friend, they would likely require an attestation d'hébergement from your host along with the usual - copy of ID, utilities bills in...

Re: electrical qualifications in france

Problem is that electrics are different in France, e.g. ring mains are illegal, there is no earth connections in plugs and sockets etc etc etc.
You would have to do a lot of re-learning to French...

Another option is to toddle in to one of the banks in your nearest town, tell them you would like to open an account and ask if you can make an appointment.
If...

Re: Frontier Worker / Cross-Border Working Query

You have it spot on I think.
Just one point on the tax - if you are resident in France you're legally obliged to declare your worldwide income to the French taxman. If you carry out your work in the...
