That is deemed as time in Canada no matter what flag the vessel may be registered under. The reason I am reasonably sure about this is, to work in Canadian oil & gas sector offshore a foreigner...

Just received exactly the same letter.. except that I am on a ship off the East Coast of Canada and not due back until August! My wife is heading in tomorrow with copies of licences and DVLA...

Yep! All Good. Totally settled here in East Sooke, BC. Never looked back. Will never feel the need to go 'Home' for a visit because this is where our home is!

We opened a TD GBP account in Canada. GBP funds are sent to that account from the UK. Send GBP payments to that account and let the balance accrue. One you are ready you can then carry...

We set up a TD FX trading account and get a much better rate (GBP - CAD) than Joe public walk in rate at the local TD branch.
