The Uk only limited entry for non citizens and non residents who had been in a red list countries in the previous 10 days and the USA has not been on that list.

I think most airlines don’t have any change fees at the moment, so can move a flight without penalty. I’ve booked and moved multiple flights in the last year, even a few days before a planned trip.

order it now. You will need the test reference number in order to complete the passenger locator form, which you will do before you leave the US when returning to the UK.

if you live in the US then when going to the Uk th airline will verify your vaccine status ( CDC card) to get on the flight. Airline will do the same when leaving the UK before going back to the US....
