Re: Job Offer in Dubai - help with accommodation!

Yeah and if you believe any of the statistics there's something like 1 million additional people living in Dubai. And lots more tourists.

It's definitely worse now that it was 8 or 9 years ago....

Re: Job Offer in Dubai - help with accommodation!

Re: Please help child out of wedlock trouble sponsoring

If you're not married how can "we" get a visa? You're either on a married status visa or you have individual work visas.

Living together will be illegal by the way (without being married). It...

Re: Job Offer in Dubai - help with accommodation!

It depends how much you're looking to spend really. There are some cheap studios about but you may be able to get into a small 1 bed instead. Ideally you should look for something that you won't want...

Re: New Road to Abu Dhabi

Uber in the UK are fantastic. I once got told off for not staying where I situated the pin. In Dubai they're absolutely useless. Several times I've been stood watching them on my phone to see where...

Re: Visa for family and partner Abu Dhabi

I would just add with the certificates that the FCO were unable to verify our marriage certificate as they didn't have the Registrar's signature on the system and so had to contact them and await...

Re: Visa for family and partner Abu Dhabi

Yep post to FCO by Special Delivery and pay for the courier back. Marriage Certificates have to be original so I wouldn't risk any other way. UAE Embassy also send via Special Delivery but put a self...

Re: Visa for family and partner Abu Dhabi

I'm just going through a similar process and will be sponsoring the wife when we land. If you haven't already done so I'd consider processing the marriage and degree certificates for legalisation and...

Re: What's a proper watch?

If it's recognition for badge status over form and function people want they could just as easily go and get a Karama special as...

Re: What's a proper watch?

People that buy a Patrol over RR obviously know their onions and see passed the badge (I had one). I expect most RR buyers buy them simply because of the badge.

The same is probably true for 90%...

Re: What's a proper watch?

Google Grand Seiko. I think you'll be in for a surprise. They're very highly regarded however most people would dismiss them because they think they're 'just a seiko'.

C&J all the way! I bought the Westbournes last year. The quality even in the main line are phenomenal. Despite researching I can't see there are any Dubai based retailers unless someone can correct...

Re: What's a proper watch?

Definitely have a look in the UK. In particular have a look at iconic watches. I bought an Omega from them last year with a whacking great discount off it (26% from memory).

They sell them as...

Why another nail in the coffin?

It's lower than Dubai's housing fee and wasn't it announced earlier last year?
