So very true; I am only talking about my mom's father's line. Father's line peters out in the mid 1800's

I had always heard that Dr. Walter Reed was an ancestor but seems to not be the case....

Could be, I should have stated emigrated to the US; it seems old John Reed had children and later died in Providence RI; beginning in 1653.

My sister has done our family tree on Ancestry.com and it turns that our family comes from Maidstone, Kent and Wendron, Cornwall and emigrated to Rhode Island sometime before 1635. Interesting...
