Re: Penn State Uni Paedophile Scandal

I'm okay with the multi-million dollar fine but I'm not so sure about stripping their wins. You can't erase history, those games have been played. And the players who earned those wins don't...

Re: Recommendations for good (and balanced) US news organisations?

Re: Recommendations for good (and balanced) US news organisations?

Our local news is the same, reports of what's going on out there - crime, traffic, weather, etc. I can't see where the paid placements fit in.
As for Canada, we're close to the border so we do...

Re: Recommendations for good (and balanced) US news organisations?

We like PBS news, they regularly present both sides to political discussions. And they're not "flashy, glamour" newscasts like most regular networks offer.

Re: 4th July events?

A lazy day, a bit of cooking, enjoying the pleasantly cool sunshine. BBQ later with friends and watching their neigbourhood fireworks. :)

Re: Help - How to get ink out of leather??

I love knock-offs. And charity shop bargains. If anyone gets close enough to declare "FAKE!!" then they deserve a slap. :)

Re: Anyone into Fishing?

Just got back from a Wallowa Lake wedding, lots of fishermen there. We thought it might be worth a try, something to do on the weekends. We've been told we'll be much happier in Snohomish county if...

Re: Did anyone move to USA without a job first ?

DH arrived in June 2011, started job hunting right away, went to work October 2011. We had to move 300 miles for this job but that's not bad in a country this big.

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

We moved here from Huby, very near Almscliffe Crag. I miss our weekly shopping in Otley.

Darn, we'd like to stay connected to Sheffield but no sense intruding where we're not welcome.

Re: Stuff you take US-UK

My SON-in-law makes his own venison jerky. And it's not on my "luggage to England" list, just saying it's better than the store-bought stuff. :)
