Re: Intercompany transfer to Houston

On £55k in the UK that puts you in the 40% income tax bracket. With national insurance on top of that your nett is around £40,500. Texas has no state income tax and you won’t be paying anywhere near...

Re: Travelling on ESTA

Customs are not going to care. Immigration will. There is no limit on the questions that they can ask. They can search your phone for messages and emails, check your social media postings, search...

Re: Travelling on ESTA

The question on the mind of the CBP officer will be why you are so determined to spend so much time here. Why here? I get that you are currently not working so you are free to do as you please but...

Re: Travelling on ESTA

It’s not the location where you go between trips that’s the issue, it’s the amount of time you are spending here and how quickly you are returning that will cause the problem. Once you get to 180...

Re: Travelling on ESTA

That’s correct - a short hop to a neighboring country (Mexico, Canada, Caribbean nations) does not re-set the clock and grant you another 90 days. Your plan will not work.

Are you retired? If so,...

Re: Potential move to Philly

That’s exactly what caught my eye and caused me to comment that it doesn’t sound like the company knows what it is getting involved in.

OP, the size of the company is not what led me to think...

Re: Potential move to Philly

I’m confused why IT consultancy which had been done off and on for a year or so remotely now needs to be done by someone in a specific location.

Does the company realize how much it costs and...

Re: Help with how to find my Partner a working visa! Thank you!

As you have seen from your own situation, work visas have to be initiated by the prospective (or current) employer. It’s not something your partner can just apply for alone. If they work for a...

Re: Prince Harry's new Job - what visa ?

So because a journalist (who probably doesn’t understand how the process works and probably also hasn’t been through it) said so, it must be true? There’s nothing strange about a naturalized citizen...

Re: ACRO No Live Trace

How are you applying for a green card outside the US? You would first need a visa to get to the US. So you are currently applying for a visa. Which visa category?

Re: Follow Up.....................Job Done!

I had my interview and same-day oath recently. My passport never even made it out of my bag during the whole event. The only thing I had to hold up to the camera (it was done via Zoom) was my green...

The questions depend on the visa you are applying for and your personal circumstances. The questions are individual to you.

Re: Driving in NJ with UK license

That part is crucial. HOME country. Where you live. Your residence. Not where you were born. Not where you grew up. Not the passport you hold. You live in the US so the US is your home country, not...

They went from Canada to California by private plane. I didn’t think private plane passengers were eligible for the VWP?

My money is on a CR-1. There was plenty of time to get that done before...

In what capacity is your love interest here? If they are a US citizen you can apply for a K-1 fiancé visa or get married and then apply for a CR-1 spouse visa. If they are an LPR (green card holder)...

Re: Does anyone here from the UK have a Florida home ?

I don’t have a Florida home or any intention of getting one but I live in a place where only 20% of the people are “full-timers” and the rest are second homes.

Our local Facebook group is full of...

Re: I-130 information

So you married before your son turned 18? Was your wife a USC at the time? If so, that would give him a shot as an F-1 category also. Currently F2A is moving faster than F-1 but it’s prudent to have...

Re: Move to US (Texas or Florida)
