Re: Location to move to??

I don't have kids so can't give you an answer from that perspective.

Re: Our experience moving to NZ 18 months in

Re: Job offer in Auckland

I don't have any kids so I don't have a parent perspective on the topic.

I do remember that I grew up in a small country-town in England and I felt terribly under-prepared for dealing with...

Re: Hobsonville (Auckland)

Nice! It is a brewery so bypasses the Licencing Trust rules that control the sale of alcohol to the public in those areas.

If you look on Google you can see on the Satellite images that not long...

Re: Hobsonville (Auckland)

It is a brand new suburb of Auckland.

It is mostly brand new houses that are being built around a new (i.e. not fully occupied yet) mini town centre.

There is a supermarket there. Unfortunately...

Re: Why did you move to New Zealand?

I moved here because I married one of them and she wanted to return 'home'.

To be fair to her she had been very clear from the day we started dating that this would happen one day and I was...

Re: Salary by region

There only needs to be one person working there to be able to produce this statistic.

The numbers are quite depressing though.

Re: How much money needed to take to NZ (Christchurch)

I have read through this thread a few times. On the face of it, one response might seem a limited set of information to work with, but the one that has been given has got everything you need to know...

Re: Working Holiday taking car

I cannot envisage any circumstances where the cost of importing your own car to New Zealand can be considered worthwhile.

Having said that, if you move to Auckland then you can expect to spend...

Re: Extremism , terrism & hate speech discussion - NZ

It is not the fault of the current politicians that things were how they were.

I am horrified to have discovered that the firearms controls in this country were as lax as they were - that was a...

Re: Moving in June (hopefully)

Orewa is not far away from Auckland - it is in the Auckland commuter belt.

There has been a lot of house-building around there in the eighteen years since I first visited it. That has brought an...

Re: NI contributions

Pensions are a subject that require a vast number of factors to be taken into account, and even then Governments can (and do) change the rules after you have made your decision.

I lived in the UK...
