I'm amazed by that age 55 limit.
I'm highly skilled, Engineering, Mechanical by trade (currently QA Engineer in Aerospace) so maybe it would be worth taking a holiday to NZ and check it out....

I was going to say foreigners but I don't regard or feel myself as foreign in Oz and I don't regard Aussies as foreigners in the UK, probably due to our very close cultural ties and shared history....

I'm nearly 53 and I can gaurentee you there is nothing to worry about.
I am not a financial adviser but I have a long term friend who is a pension specialist. I have been in a final salary scheme...

Does anyone know the current age limit to apply for NZ residency? I know it's currently 45 in Oz but someone told me it's 55 in NZ.

You are only 30, it may be another 30 years before you retire. You will definitely be a different person.

Thought I'd let you know, my mate isn't going, the visa will run out, and he has decided to do another four or five years here when he will be able to retire anyway...

Hi,
Is there a visa available for retired UK citizens who would like to spend a substantial part of the year living in Oz, say up to 6 months? Or even maybe more.
