Re: Is a TransferWise exchange a 'Remittance'?

There is no way for anyone to know from what source the money is being transferred, from income or savings. E.g. there is the same system to tax the foreigners in a similar program in Malta. When we...

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

If you have MM2H in Sabah, you can stay in Sarawak for only 3 months, right?
Since many may start applying in Sarawak, I wonder how long does it take now for an application to be approved.
Is there...

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

Sorry, I checked and I actually misread in a hurry.

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

We will not hear their reason from them. Because despite all logical benefits of this program, there is only one dominant obstacle. This is a disgust towards the foreigners from some gov officials...

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

This wasn't an option even for some MM2Hers under the old system, because a surviving spouse didn't have enough income.
A Permanent Residence is a better option. Unfortunately, Malaysian gov doesn't...

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

Do you mean here "Muslim", not Malay?

This is a huge problem. If Malaysia is your only home and you already even bought a property here then if a principal MM2H holder dies, your spouse...

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

Thank you for an update! It looks like new rules will not apply to current applicants, but the article doesn't say if old rules can be grandfathered when it comes to MM2H renewal after 10 years.

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

E.g. your FD in Turkey is kept in Turkish banks in USD for 5 years and than you get a PR without strings attached.
Malaysian deal...

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

Perhaps some expats in Malaysia will be relieved to move out of here. Beside many pros and cons on staying in Malaysia, the biggest for me is air pollution.

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

Re: Peninsular MM2H reactivated from October, new conditions

I am astonished about use of a word "disguising" here. A government official can't find other words? It shows that he has strong personal feelings about some foreigners.
