Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Sure. You can buy property if you're a non resident too. You would have to be prepared to answer questions about non-immigrant intent if asked though.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I would seek advice from an attorney on that one - I would not accept the company's interpretation on that. I would not have thought you were okay to work but I do not know for sure. I always left...

Re: Anything I can do to chase up EAD? It's been 104 days.

We had a trip planned and my EAD/AP card had not arrived, so my husband called his local Congressman's office. They asked for the application info and they had it approved within 3 days.

Re: UK Nurse moving to California

Check with the college - my university charges "out of state" tuition as long as you are on any temporary visa, EVEN IF you have been resident for >1 year. Ask me how I found that out...

Re: US Citizenship: pros and cons?

My US tax attorney mentioned some issues with tax later in life if I became a US citizen (with regard to Australia), but I hear "blah blah" when he talks taxes so I can't remember what he said...

Came on E3 visa for Australians, worked in healthcare, specialized field. Renewed 3 or 4 times. Now on green card due to marriage to US citizen.

Re: When able to start work?

I understand the process and this thread confused me!!

The purpose of the EAD is to let you work while the green card process is underway. There is often a (large) gap between when you apply and...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

If USCIS twice has said that the E3 is valid until Feb 2017 (is that the expiration date on the actual visa in your passport?), I wouldn't worry about the previous LCA at all.

Re: Applying for E3 with a pending Green Card... help!

Yes it is stated officially that a pending GC application is not a reason to deny an E-3 application.

"An E-3 nonimmigrant shall maintain an intention to depart the U.S. upon the expiration or...

Re: Wrong birth date on lost SS card

I would try just filing the SS-5 form to replace the card - it also has a place on there to correct info that is wrong with SSA. Assuming he/she wants to "correct" to the date listed on ID, maybe...

Re: E3 visa refused per Section 214(b)

None of us can tell you how long it will take.

I am confused as to what you applied for in Perth, another new E3? They usually keep the passport to send back the visa in so if they returned the...

Re: L2 to North Carolina, possibly pregnant at 42

LOL - not advising a home birth is very much different than recommending a C-section. Most hospital births do not involve C-sections. I don't see any suggesting the criteria for deciding should be...

Re: Our move from Chorley to Pittsburgh

I don't think there's an issue with leaving once you have applied for SSN, but you do need a physical address to send the card to. I went to the East Liberty SSA office, applied, then went back 48hrs...
