Re: Can you sue DOS/INS for depression caused to their errrors and delays

Why? It only gives 5 hits, none that are related to law, immigration, or otherwise. I'd suggest adding an extra "n" to "Unkown". ;)

Re: News Item

Some would argue that 15 months in prison is worth the price to make $396,000.00 ($4,000 x 99). Seems like a rather light sentence.

Re: Does GC mean new SS (without condition)?

Correct. EAD is no longer relevant.

You can have the restriction removed on your SS card by visiting your local SSA office and showing them your green card. They will reissue your SS card without...

Re: Good faith waiver or new marriage?

That's up to you.

All I can report is that I've read many accounts by do-it-yourselfers that were successful.

As with any I-751, provide lots of evidence that the marriage was entered into in...

Re: Good faith waiver or new marriage?

File the I-751 waiver that shows you entered into the marriage in good faith. Just because you are divorced does not mean you don't have a chance. Many have reported filing successful waivers over...

Re: J 1 out of status for a few weeks

The sooner the better. As with any marriage to a USC, what matters most is that the alien spouse entered the country legally (and that appears to be the case). Any issue of overstay will be forgiven...

Re: Looking for link to a law....

Here's the last sentence for those that are interested.

Re: Change of address...

I'd also recommend transporting your belongings to the new abode. Filling out an AR-11 and an I-865 alone won't get your stuff to the new location. ;)

Re: Applying for AOS, Mother of a question...

Re: this seems too good to be true

It might serve you well to read some of attorney Folinsky's posts where he repeatedly points out that Federal employees (or contractors in this case) cannot be held legally responsible for the...

Re: The Amazing Ombudsman

I suggest you read the budman's recent report to congress. He actually does give a rat's ass about people being disserviced by USCIS.

Re: marriage within 60-day period after I-20 expires: AOS-friendly or not?

Unlawful presence doesn't start to accrue until an immigration judge or other immigration official makes the determination, for those students with D/S on their I-94.

As before, a non-issue. Carry...

Check your I-94 for the "D/S"

See also INA 245(c ) - it's a non issue.
