Thanks all for the input -i've found out the australian arm of my company do sponsor though couldnt get them to commit whether that would be 121 or 457.

No transfers though so would still have to...

Yes undestand the IELTS test - was just seeing what the top possible score would be.

121 looks interesting though and probably best option - finding a sponsor will be the challenge.

Not really as Liverpool, Glasgow and the North East all have affluent areas and there are very expensive suburbs of central London where there are council flats.

Definatelty 2 sides the place, my family live in Wanganui - my Aunt recently had a stroke and got taken into hospital - her house was then somewhat coincidently ramsacked.

Just looked on it.seek.co.nz - there are 91 IT jobs listed in Christchurch - seems to various types of roles - testers all the way up to Enterprise Architect.

Yes certfications and qualifications are only half of it - you'll need to get into a job to get the real experience. The books will give you a good grounding but dont teach how it really happens in...

Does the CSA have powers in NZ? Would be better negotiating that side of things directly with your ex as you could be screwed if the exchange rate gets worse.

OK- You'll need an IT degree to get enough points without a job offer - vendor certificates and in house qualifications dont count.

If you can get a job offer you'll probably get enough points...

Have you tried contacting companies directly?

Seek will be mainly agencies looking for a quick turnaround as well as competing against other agencies for comission - so someone without a visa...

Yes Syndey and Melbourne have the most jobs and yes there's plenty of development companies in Aus.

No idea about salaries - though there's a hays aussie\nz salary survey you can find on the web...

Also be aware that in Aus they have the RPL (recognition of prior learning) process where you can get your work experience assesed - NZ doesnt have this.

1 = no

2 = if you dont have enough points then you dont get in. Like i said above you'll need a degree or secure a job offer to get enough points.
