Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

I can’t decide what it means.

Notification of Termination of Arrival Restrictions
Pursuant to 19 U.S.C. 1433(c), 19 CFR 122.32, 49 U.S.C. 114, and 49 CFR 1544.305 and 1546.105, and effective as...

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

To clarify, this would remove the 15 airport restriction on incoming flights, but wouldn’t have any effect on who can enter the country?

Re: Covid 19 Travel/Immigration to USA - please check here and ask questions

Was your baby born in US? If so and they have a US passport, you and your wife can come back in the US with baby as their parents.

Re: Wanting to move to California - what can I do there?

I would also add that isn't only economic and logistical considerations, you've also got to factor in the attitudes of the people that you'll be surrounding yourself with.

I've done a lot of work...

Re: Advice Required for Moving to USA and buying a business

I moved to Florida three years ago, but I was lucky enough to do so on an L1 visa with a stable, well paid job and health insurance package. I know other Brits here that moved on the E2 visa and I...

Re: H1 and L1 visas to be suspended by President.

I was curious about this too as my attorneys have just filed my I-140 petition. They said that they don't expect this to impact my petition in any way since they had already received acknowledgement...

Re: $1200 Payout. Are immigrants eligible?

I thought that I was a non-resident alien, and resident aliens were those with GCs but not citizenship. My mistake!

Re: $1200 Payout. Are immigrants eligible?

Just received mine directly into my bank account. I thought non-resident aliens were excluded? I'm an L1 visa holder.

Re: Moving to US next year- uk property question.

Yes it would, regardless of if you put it into a US property or not.

I'm not sure if you could potentially time the move so that you didn't pass the substantial presence test and therefore were...

Re: Moving to US next year- uk property question.

I should have clarified that there are no CGT implications if OP were to sell the house now (as far as I'm aware).

Secondly, a low GBP->USD exchange rate is likely to count against a seller,...

Re: Moving to US next year- uk property question.

No CGT implications as far as I'm aware, but you could have foreign currency gains that you should think about if you have a mortgage on the UK property.

Re: Recent L1-A Experience

You can do extensions from inside the US via Administrative Processing. Most Attornies (mine included) advise against it because you can be stuck in AP for a while at which point you're effectively...

Re: Mortgage on an L-1B before applying for Marriage GC

I bought a house in Florida 12 months into my L1-B visa (wife on L2) without any issue. We had to supply three years' worth of proof of income so that meant sending them past UK P60s in addition to...

Re: L-1B renewal trip.

Hello,

Yes, my attorney did advise that the extension could be handled through administrative processing for which we (spouse and I) wouldn't need to travel back in person but would be landlocked...

Re: Relocation package

There will be many indirect costs of moving that you might not yet have considered and which probably wouldn't fall under a direct "moving costs" budget, especially if you have to treat this fund as...

+1 vote for Virgin. Flew my boy from Gatwick to Orlando in November 2016 and they were great. I echo everything the above two posters have said.
