Re: Goggle box- anything worth watching on TV?

That was indeed an excellent production, and I thought that David Tennant did a great job of the Fraserburgh accent.

Re: Lunchtime Choices

On a similar vein regarding traditions & opinions, I'd like to know which philistine was responsible for the introduction of brioche buns to the savoury world. It's now commonplace to see pubs...

Re: Lunchtime Choices

Oh, I did forget about that. Funny, I absolutely love pork pies but I've not been eating much meat recently so didn't even think about it. However, yes, it does have a place in the ploughman's lunch...

Re: Lunchtime Choices

Simplicity is the key. Bread, butter, cheese (cheddar and Stilton), a big pickled onion and perhaps a spoonful of Branston. That's all you need. Once you start adding more, you're on a slippery slope...

Re: Lunchtime Choices

First off you need a nice crusty white loaf. I prefer a proper French baguette, though that might be considered filthy foreign muck by the Brexiteers traditionalists. And loads of butter. (This isn't...

Re: Breakfast Choices

I've not had breakfast at all recently. I read an article about intermittent fasting and realised that most of the time I had breakfast only out of habit. So now I have my dinner sometime between 7pm...

Re: Trump Trump Trump

This is the only real reason Trump wants a second term. To time-bar the very many cases that he would otherwise face - the statute of limitations means that after 6 years the cases expire, i.e....

Re: Trump Trump Trump

I simply can't fathom that any sane person could go into a voting booth and decide that Donald Trump is the kind of leader that the USA needs. It seemed madness to do so in 2016, it seems...

Re: Canadians 'eh'......

Quite understandable, the really stupid ones don't tend to go anywhere, so you have only met Brits with the gumption to travel. Be under no illusion that the UK doesn't have it's fair share of...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

It's not a sign at all. It's a pattress plate, or a restraining plate, used to hold unstable walls in place. There will probably be another similar plate on the other side of the house, and a long...

Re: Working From Home Tips

Well, that came to pass quite nicely. Finished the project in Germany at the end of April, and had 4 absolutely fantastic months at home. Weather was great, had nothing to do and nowhere to go and it...
