Re: Let's talk about cars

I have not driven a GT350 yet but it looks fantastic. I wanted a modern muscle car so got the Hellcat, the GT350 may be next once you can actually order one.

Re: Let's talk about cars

It is part of the grin. What is nice is that you can customize the traction control, power and suspension. I usually drive with maximum traction control, 700hp and street suspension settings.

Re: Let's talk about cars

I picked up a Challenger Hellcat last year and whenever I drive it it just makes me grin. Massive power, will spin up the rear wheels at any speed. It handles well on all but the real tight mountain...

Re: Let's talk about cars

I have never owned a muscle car, always gone for the European or Japanese sports cars, had 911's for the last 8 years.
This week I decided to go crazy so went and ordered a Dodge Challenger Hellcat,...

Re: Nissan Leaf

diesel locomotives run on diesel. The reason these large diesel motors use electric generators and electric motors is the complexity and hence cost of the transmission is too high. Cat have developed...

Re: solar energy projects

I would estimate the pond is around 100K gallons. The pump supplies a waterfall feature but also filters and aerates the pond. Not sure how much it is needed for the health of the pond but the fish...

Re: solar energy projects

I use a Tidal Wave A315 (12 amps 230V) pumps around 140 GPM with 35ft of head. Runs 12 hours a day except when it is very cold I run 24/7 to prevent freeze up.

Re: solar energy projects

I looked at doing a solar pump for the water feature in my Koi pond but the flows I needed were to much for any reasonably priced solar system.

Re: solar energy projects

Will not be cheap depending on the pump size A 2kw pump would not be unusual. To change this to solar will be at least $3000 (2kw 24vDC motor and 2kw of panels)
Probably better to go with a smaller...

Re: Questions about proposals by some candidates

Exactly, it is a game. Only in very exceptional cases would a USC not be qualified. If I remember PERM is just required for moving from an H visa to green card so the person is generally already...

I own two sections of land that are leased out and mainly wheat is grown. I make some money on them, pays the taxes and a little left over. The guy that leases the land has maybe one full time...

Re: coffee machine

Easy enough to add an inline fuse if it is a concern. You should really change the breaker to the correct rating and dedicate the circuit
I assumed the coffee machine is a big espresso machine so it...

Re: coffee machine

Depending on the coffee maker, your issue will be total load (probably at least 20 amp)with any transformer hooked up to your kitchen outlet which will be 15 or maybe 20 amp circuit.
The coffee...

Re: Is my USA-born son already a British citizen?

We never registered our kids, they got British passports when they reached 16 so it was a 10 year passport. No issues getting the passports just a normal application. When they are 26 they are on...

Re: Ready for Winter

Yes, ice on the pond this morning, and snow making has started at the resorts.

I have most things done but have not yet blown out the irrigation and still have summer tires to change.

Re: Oregon incident.

I think all the deaths are regrettable however I am still waiting to hear what these common sense gun controls are and how they would have impacted any of the "mass shootings". From what I have seen...

Re: Oregon incident.

If the debate is what is the way can gun deaths be reduced to zero then the only way is to remove guns form private ownership. (not very feasible)

If it is to reduce the number of gun deaths then...

Re: Oregon incident.

Not sure what race or sexual orientation have to do with gun deaths. The one thing that makes the biggest difference is how you choose to live your life. If you choose drug dealing and other crime...
