I applied on line and then over the phone from the UK....I received an email from Baltimore asking me to call them.....I did a quick google of the name of the person who I was to call in Baltimore...

When I spoke to the Lady at the SS dept she said.
What is the amount of your UK pension(in £££s)...I told her,she then said because the amount your getting when calculated into $$$s is more than...

I have tried contacting them in the UK....not easy,they dont pick up the phone or answering machine says their operators are busy and only open from 10-1pm,Ive just sent them an email.

I suggest you go to the SSA website and register there.

Tried that....dont have a U.S address so cant complete the application.

I have not filed a U.S tax return since 2007(last time in the U.S) because I was told that because I was not a U.S citizen and not living in the U.S I did not need to...

Hi,first post to this forum.
I have read approx the first 20 or so posts regarding U.S SS payments to British citizens outside of the UK etc.
I worked and paid into the U.S SS system as a G/C...
